Why Is Earning Honor in MoP This Miserable Again?

So… we’re back to this again, huh?

Honor grind in MoP right now is absolutely dreadful. It’s like Blizzard went, “Hey, let’s bring back the days when we thought forcing players to suffer through meaningless, unrewarding content was a good way to teach them how to play the game!”

The current honor system doesn’t feel rewarding, doesn’t feel engaging, and sure as hell doesn’t feel honorable. Random battlegrounds? They feel like a chore — just a means to an end. Nobody’s having fun. We’re not learning anything. We’re just vomiting our time into a blender for the sake of buying a gear set that we need just to start playing real PvP.

So here’s a radical thought:
Just give players a full starter honor set. Right out of the gate.

PvE players don’t want to waste time in content they don’t enjoy just to try PvP. New PvP players are turned off before they even get started. And veterans? We’re just sick of pretending this is meaningful progression. It’s not.

This isn’t about “handouts” — it’s about gameplay experience.
Let people jump into actual PvP, actual learning, and actual fun — without the artificial gatekeeping of 400+ BGs worth of drudgery. Stop hiding behind outdated design philosophies and start designing systems that actually respect players’ time and engagement.

Game design shouldn’t be an exercise in arrogance.
It should be about giving players tools to enjoy the game, not teaching them “lessons” they didn’t ask for.

I mean you can buy the gear on the AH the problem is cloth costs like 2k gold per piece vs 40k for mail because everyone wants to have tailoring for pvp thats why there is all the priest/lock/mage premades at the minute.

This was already fixed. All the recipes are removed and the pieces on the AH are the only remaining ones.

Em dash ai slop. Though I agree, honor cap buys you two pieces.

Please ignore PvP

It is not a good activity

AMEN BROTHER!

Im not 90 yet, and Im too lazy to confirm, but 400+ bgs to get starting gear sounds like a lie to me.

Also, some people actually enjoy BGs and dont see it as this grind just to get gear.

So… we’re back to this again, huh?

Legendary Cloak grind in MoP right now is absolutely dreadful. It’s like Blizzard went, “Hey, let’s bring back the days when we thought forcing players to suffer through meaningless, unrewarding content was a good way to teach them how to play the game!”

The current legendary cloak earning system doesn’t feel rewarding, doesn’t feel engaging, and sure as hell doesn’t feel legendary. Celestial dungeons? They feel like a chore — just a means to an end. Nobody’s having fun. We’re not learning anything. We’re just vomiting our time into a blender for the sake of getting a cloak that we need just to start playing real PvE.

So here’s a radical thought:
Just give players a full starter justice points set. Then Valor Points set. Then legendary Cloak. Right out of the gate.

PvE players don’t want to waste time in content they don’t enjoy just to try PvP. New PvP players are turned off before they even get started. And veterans? We’re just sick of pretending this is meaningful progression. It’s not.
