This makes no sense… why would you want to make awesome tools and equipment if you can never trade any of them. What’s even worse is that it makes it impossible to get the best equipment for your chosen professions.
Take blacksmithing and mining for example. You can make the hammer and the toolbox, but you can only get the apron of you combine blacksmithing with leatherworking. Now for mining you would be able to get the khaz’gorite pickaxe by speccing accordingly in blacksmithing, but to get the mining helmet and satchel you would have to combine mining with engineering… This can’t be intended can it? I’m just about ready to scrap my mining for leatherworking this very moment.
Any insight or knowledge about this would be greatly appreciated.
So what you’re saying is that the prospect of making money on tools is basically zero, considering the poster decides how much they want to pay me? And no one will buy the green ones if they can get the rare ones dirt cheap.
If so that takes away any motivation to actually unlock the rep gated plans. Come to think of it, I haven’t even seen a single work order up for blacksmithing, not sure if the work order system is even working right now tbh.
The person requesting can decide what to leave as a tip, or how many reagents to submit to offset cost if a personal order (I believe)… however it’ll be a normal competitive marketplace. If people are using a recipe for skilling up, then you likely get no/low tip, whereas if it’s a rare recipe or high quality, and you want to entice someone to pick you with their limited crafting you offer a larger tip.
As a closed system it looks fairly balanced, it’s just hidden off in it’s own world… would be better if integrated alongside the AH somehow for visibility. I personally hate being unable to see what other people are offering as Tips, when I go to list my own request for an item.
Yeah I guess, just not sure if I like the idea I can only fill a maximum of 20 orders for an item locked behind rep lvl 19. If I spend the time grinding those rep lvls it does feel kinda bad having your potential income restriced by the game. And maybe even worse, having very limited control over it yourself.
They should at the very least add the option to post your own crafting offers on the work order market.
I thought the same when they were announcing it… i’d love to compete by offering to craft Flasks for people using their Materials, without spamming trade chat.
