Why is everyone leaving?

I’m still here.

It is not about convenience but not wasting time, and having your effort properly rewarded. Killing 10 raid bosses and getting nothing feels infinitely worse than killing 10 bosses and getting enough curency to buy an item, it’s as simple as that. There is apsolutely no correlation between effort/reward in the current system, as luck rules. You can clear Nathria 5 times in 5 weeks and get 2 items or you can get 10 items. The ideal gearing system is a mix of RNG and determinisim, which is exactly what we had in Cata/MoP.

Nothing. Sorry? So your guild clear raid and nobady gets items? Do you realize that in past it was absolutly ok go several weeks wihtout getting single item right?

That was only the case in Vanilla and partially in TBC, so more than a decade ago. We have never had lower drop rates in the period between then and now.

Yeah well was about time to go back to those times where game was actualy fun to play you know. This lootpinita in last few expansions was absolutly stupid.

You have Classic available one click away on your launcher mate, no need to ruin what other people consider fun to recreate lost childhood nostalgia. We don’t need retail turning classic when the other is rightly available for everyone and isn’t going anywhere.

Classic do not have new content. And retailers what want loot pinata are minority as classic showed there us far bigger audience what actualy prefers game as it used to be in past. They had to start appealing and changing retail for classic like audience becouse this audience is simply bigger.

When gear itself in retail becomes as relevant as it was in TBC in terms of its longevity, then this system can work. Back then certain pieces from a tier 4 raid were practically BIS throughout the expansion, so the long grind was worth it.

Now we have 40 ilvls of the same raid between LFR and mythic, which is insanity. This means that the moment the next raid tier is out, all Nathria gear is obsolete, so this grind wasn’t really worth it was it.

Also there are absolutely not enough Classic fanboys who are even interested in retail to make up for the amount of people they are driving away with this loot system.

That is literally exactly opposite what BfA was. BfA improved all the flaws of legion. No more stupid uber grindy legendaries, no more 4 gear slots, no more op trinkets that remained op thru entire expansion, esencess targettable, tier sets configurable obtainable not only from raids, no more farming stupid currency to get a chance for TF gear, TF nerfed, dungeons way better designed, again can swap weapon in RPG, no longer half of your class was within an item. No more stupid AP tokens, no more destroyed economy because of milions from garrison.

Game is strange nowadays. I sit afk in battlegrounds, use honor to upgrade my stuff to 197. I join lfr, hit boss once with moonfire and collect loot. “Epic” world boss quests, hit boss once, sit afk and collect loot.

Leveling characters, join dungeon and sit afk and take exp

Why do you think everyone is?Some are leaving yes but not all as you are implying.

You know how they did Twisting Corridors? They put 3 random regular wings on top of each other and added multiplicative scaling coefficients for wings 2 and 3. This whole feature took perhaps 8 hours of developer time.

No wonder it feels bad, it is absolutely cheap. “Here, have something to fill your time. We are damn lazy, so we’ll just put the content that we already have into a chain. Have fun.”

Next up: heroic and mythic versions of the Maw with mob hp and damage buffed plus some achievements to lure you into doing this bs.

well. thank the “I dont have time to play the game more than 1 hour per week but I demand to get gear without any effort”- crowd

Ever considered the possiblity, the porblem is not how “strange” the Game is nowdays… but you?
Sure, you don’t need to participate in those things, but you could… and you are not feeling the need to do it? Just sit and profit… thats not the game’s fault you know
Are you having fun? No? Then why still here? Plenty of games around where you must do things (guess then you would cry the game is too hard and demanding…)
But then again, if you are lazy?

Well you are lucky if your guild is still alive then.

Have to agree with this, when I heard the name I envisioned it as a back door/secret passage route through the tower, and was excited to find out what was in there. I do enjoy the challenge, and working around new abilities, but it could have been so much more.

It Is same like saying I like this boy as my boyfriend .why don’t everybody like him ?
As for me I am liking this expansion far more then bfa and will probably keep on playing the game till a new wow 2 comes

But are they really? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Many people (including myself) had a chance to play loads during the Christmas break thanks to a combo of holidays and COVID lockdowns.

Managed to get three alts through three covenant campaigns, now working on the fourth but I feel like there’s no more rush as once the campaign is done, I won’t be locked out of some questlines/lore if I do not progress steadily.

Casual scenario clearly, as for me the effort required for proper raiding and M+ just ain’t my cup of tea after long days at work. I am totally up for long long grinds by playing one or two hours here and there when chances arise, though. Doesn’t matter if it takes months or even years.

I know a number of players in their 30s-50s who are experiencing the same thing. Our subs are active and we aren’t leaving, but we are taking it veeeery easy and prioritizing other stuff while waiting for the next content patch.

ofc its the games fault. they literally designed the game in a way, that you can go absolute brain afk and get rewarded. dont hate the player hate the game.

The reason players are leaving are simple
Rewards, torghast, and no motivation.
Doing Raid and M+ with 0 loot only to wait 7 days to get something from vault is just stupid.
Torghast is another failed D3 design, like endless Rifts, only reward ashes for legendary. So after upgrading the lege to max, noone will go there again! Is pointless anymore.
Motivation now, what else can i do when cause of poor designed drop rate i am stucked with my i lvl? When highest M+ rewards lower i lvl than HC raiding? When some of us work shifts and cant attend to all raids, we fall behind and not taken afterwards.
If M+ was an actual mode in the game we could progress from there.

When everything requires effort but it rewards nothing, then sr but the game is trash.
