Why is everything recycled lately?

8.3 was a bunch of recycled zones and assets, and looks like prepatch is the same. Blizzard couldn’t even bother coming up with new transmogs for a major PREPATCH event? Are they understaffed or something?

it’s been like that for a long time tbh… i think blizz let the talent go which made the Wotlk stuff so rather than make new wotlk themed stuff using the same old talent … the just reused the same old stuff.

Im actually okay with it, since there is less than 14 days left of the expansion. That gear you can get through this event is ment for new/returning players I’m sure.
I’m also fine with that we re-visit old zones in order to quest. I’d like more of that tbh.

HOWEVER! I sure do hope that in SL we will have more variation of mogs. Not just 50 shades of recolour like we saw in BFA  and also I hope for nicer looks, covenants aside, than what we had in BFA… Those mogs -all of them have been SO SO boring.

Well the zone re-use was cool in my opinion. And how they added tentacles and stuff to dungeons as well. I liked that.

I’ll recycle an overused meme to answer your thread:

I’m fine with going back to Icecrown, the skybox looks amazing btw. But they could’ve done something more with the gear or at the very least add something worth getting like the old Argent Dawn tabard, or hell even a newly designed one.

Or more toys, pets, illusions.

life is recycled too clearly god is a talantless hax

if what i heard is true … shadowlands will have less variation than previous expansion … i think thats what i heard anyway … as in dungeon gear and stuff… but sets from system side of things will be there.

:sob: :sob: :sob: :sob:

Peeps: Why don’t Blizz re-use old content to make it relevant again, such a waste.
Also Peeps: Wtf Blizz, why you re-use old content?!..REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

i could be wrong there… i only heard it in passing and i dont remember where from

Some parts of Shadowlands made me think of Diablo for some reason. Like isometric diablo world brought to wow format. The main hub is like heaven architecture.

Hopefully it’s because they are working on a future project and wants to create a better WoW.

If you recycle something that doesn’t require much work as a new zone or ideas they got more time on their hands.

Yeah, exactly this. I would much prefer for the developers to focus on the upcoming expansion we are going to play for the next few years, than to worry about a 14 day pre-patch.

As far as BfA goes I think it’s because they tried to go back to the old zones and back to their roots a bit, so they had everything there and used it pretty well to be fair as far looks and atmosphere. Gameplay is another conversation altogether lol

And Shadowlands pre-patch is another throwback to Wrath in particular.
I know what you mean though.

on horde side they use 50% of the s1 gladiator set as new transmog. they could have done a hd naxxramas set or icc. or a new mount or a recolored frostwyrm drake

I don’t mind revisiting old zones. Actually i think it is better then keep adding new stuff to a already huge world.

This is whu I haven’t bought the SL. I had beta from the start and havent even looked at it. I wish i was able to give it to person who wants it

I like the reuse of content, wow has plenty of expansions and assets it could reuse.

However I’d expect content to be better / polished considering the time saved on assets.

“Lately”

WoW has always recycled assests. A lot of WoW icons are from the Warcraft RTS. Some of you are so delusional with your nostalgia.
