Why is Hallow’s End still linked to UC for Horde?

I don’t want to overstate this, I know this only Hallow’s End and nothing too important, but still.

Having to go back to Tirisfal Glades, and speak to a Bronze Dragonflight NPC to see ‘old Undercity’, in order to partake in this seasonal holiday is damaging to the integrity of the world.

In the modern WoW, Undercity doesn’t exist anymore. The horde should be celebrating it somewhere else; wherever the Forsaken call home nowadays.

It just makes me feel like Blizzard have lost their passion and pride in the ‘world’ of Azeroth when things are left so outdated.
I did these quests 10 years ago, not only update the setting but update the quests. The fact they have been allowed to get into such a poor state is not showcasing the best we know WoW can offer.

Make the seasonal holidays fun again. Make them mean something, like back when a lot of importance was attached on making Azeroth feel like a living, breathing world. It would also give people more fun things to do.

Halloween in WoW is a bit naff, to put it mildly. Cmon Blizzard, show some sense of pride and give us something cool. Don’t make me revisit a city that was destroyed 2 years ago to celebrate it in 2020. Meh.

Why’s Hallow’s End fundamentally the same event since the wicker additions in cata. That’s a better question.

Well, it’s the same question pretty much but from a different angle

Blizzard simply doesn’t care until Cataclysm 2.0 comes and they revamps the old areas again.

Wont happen. The level squish has swept them to the side. BfA is now the levelling zones.

Official progression path is: Island->BfA->SL

These events that send people back to Teldrassil etc. just remind everyone how the game used to be better.

Its automatic now. It auto sends you to the past rather than you having to use Zidormi.

When it first happened and my mage used teleport to undercity it dumped me at her feet lol.
Now, it assumes I want the past and I land in the old place where teleportation went to.

I understand you prefer to stay in the games present, but if we did that, we’d loose the unique atmosphere of undercity and tirisfal glades for hallows end. The only other place that’s similar is duskwood.

I really don’t understand the problem myself. It’s the most suitable city for the event, a city of undead. We just go back to a past iteration, just like we do to collect various things for in game events. Phasing is pretty much part and parcel of WoW.

You’re not wrong.

However, it’s just too much effort trying to move all the npc’s and quests and everything accordingly.

So it’s more practical to keep it the same, but making you use time travel instead.

Doesn’t it save whatever you left it in, rather than assumes you want the past?

oh dear… that ship has sailed long ago with sharding

Oh do you still listen to Sylvanas’ speech when she was an interesting character?

I suppose the problem is our characters are suppose to be celebrating Hallows End in the present, but we have to travel back in time to Undercity to do so. It doesn’t make sense.

If they were celebrating it for real now, they would do something in Orgrimmar or someplace else.
That’s why I feel it’s damaging the integrity of the ingame world.

It must be just as jarring for Alliance to get quests to stink bomb Undercity, when as far as they know it’s already been destroyed.

You kinda are, its almost like you forgot that a widespread pandemic is still linger around, Activision Blizzard is shutting down offices, and moral in the company is at an all-time low due to the delay of Shadowlands.

Pretty sure no-one could blame them for not trying to reinvent hallows end for the sake of the players.

Except you.

Wow, what a response Skrugbak. Shall we just close down all suggestions and feedback on the forums because of COVID this year? You could copy this reply into almost every thread on this site.

Undercity was destroyed over 2 years ago. This could/should have been changed last year.

I’m very supportive of the Blizzard staff working hard in difficult circumstances this year, as we all have, myself included. It has been a hard year.

Nothing important… NOTHING IMPORTANT. I’ll have you know sir Thomas Thomson is no laughing matter. The headless horseman needs to be stopped or all shall burn from his wrath.

you get ported to the ‘‘old UC’’ if you use portal on the zepelin tower of org, what is the problem?

meanwhile alliance having to go to darnasus(for the candy quest) get ported in hostile horde territory(WARFRONT) , have to find the npc, have to take a flight/boat to teldrasil…please stop

Going around the world and having to phase back to older versions of various zones felt a bit weird as well(if not simply inconvenient ), then having to go back to the old version of the Undercity was odd indeed.

They could’ve just moved the event, show that time is passing and zones change but despite all that we still come together to celebrate ingame holidays/events.

Well that is the point. Alliance shouldn’t need to goto Darnassus anymore, because Teldrassil died years ago.

I’m not excusing anything, but clearly you are looking for an excuse, are you paying for the content of this game? Are you single-handedly dumping millions of dollars in research and development each month? I don’t think so, you’re paying for access to this game, if you can’t find something you like in the events to come, there’s no reason for you to be paying anymore, is there?

Clearly not supportive enough since you just HAD to go make a thread to moan about “You working hard this year” and being denied your “NEW” hallows end experience.
