Don’t get me wrong, she was one of the only likable characters in Shadowlands. But didn’t they make such a big deal that the only way to bring a (female) soul back from the Shadowlands is if another (male) soul takes her place? Who agreed to die for Lady Moonberry to come back, and why was it so important to bring her here, story-wise? I mean, sure Ysera also did nothing useful, but it was reasonable to believe she COULD be an asset.

If my memory of the Ardenweald story is accurate, that freaky winged thing is the reason why the Winter Queen saved Ysera who was gonna go the way of poor Ursoc. So from a story perspective it made sense for her to be there, however the Emerald Dream isn’t the living world, it’s sort of another world that hosts spirits as well. So maybe there’s that. Also it can and it probably is, crappy writing, that option is on the table a lot these days.

I did think it odd they were there but I believe if we can, as living mortals, pass into the shadowlands and emerald dream with a mere portal, they can too.
Ysera was bound to Ardenweald because the Winter Quern sacrificed some of herself to save her and thus she needed a swap.
I think the Fae were there because the seed is made of both Elune and the Winter Queen so they feel partially responsible for it; they say as much.

If that was the case, Malfurion would have no reason not to be there.
Yeah, probably.
Malfurion isn’t a forest spirit. He’s a nelf guy who knows druid stuff. I admit it was really, REALLY stupid to have him thrown there just like that because he remains a better leader than pubescent Tyrande will ever be. This is where I suspect the crap writing comes in.
And don’t get me wrong, I have no actual proof of this, but my theory is that the diversity hires in the writing team noticed they couldn’t make her a powerful independant girlboss next to a guy like Malfurion who still manages to look badass, so they put him on ice instead so Tyrande can be the woman leader who needs no man, or something like that.
I suppose we should be thankful they haven’t killed him like they did Arthas. Maybe Metzen will bring him back.

It seems to lack from the whole story’s epilogue…
There’s small ‘winter’ area with all the old Ardenweald companions hanging around in the Emerald Dream. It’s either cut content or something to come later.
Because - brace for it - the writers are trash.
The gender’s irrelevant it’s the fact malfurion is a powerful druid
Ardenweald and Emerald Dream are interconnected, how moonberry can travel? It doesn’t concerns us I guess, or it’ll concern us in later patches, is there a reason to believe that somehow it breaks lore? Don’t see any reason for it.
We don’t have story epilogue yet, it’ll be in a future patches
Malfurion replaces ysera to compensate abscense of some part of power that winter queen sacrificed to keep ysera alive for, he doesn’t just chill in ardenweald for no reason
Literally ardenweald is where wild gods go to be reborn. To think there denizens can travel to the dream isn’t much of a leap. More a couple steps forward

Ardenweald is one of the few salvageable things of SL.
Could easily be retconned as the end-state for ED stuff.
It is weird how Ysera is going back as that would open up for Malfurion to return.
And since he’s pretty much all powerful it would screw up the balance again.
Thought that was a major reason they put him in Ardenweald in the first place. Since it’s hard to write a story with him around.
It’s weird that they even brought Ysera out of the Ardenweald since she did nothing…
But then this isn’t the first time they’ve brought bad the dead for nothing. Like Illidan in Legion.

She’s not “alive”, she returned as a spirit for a limited time (kinda like DBZ afterlife). At least in this case we know she probably won’t be resurrected.

I just assumed that they escorted Ysera over and were staying to make sure she kept to the bargain that was made.
As to how?, again I just assumed that since the Maldraxxi can visit the other realms when they want then so could the others!
She’s not alive. Just currently stuck in the recycling plant. Or well, is suppose to be stuck there but Malfurion is currently replacing her somehow for some reason.
