Baine is also the son of Cairne, another monster who waged war on Kul Tiras and defied Daelin.
Why is my character, a Kul Tiran proudly wearing the Kul Tiran Heritage armor, helping these barbarians? What is this madness?

Well because one of your leaders, Jaina Proudmore have trusted Thrall for a long time. She also knows that Thrall and Baine longs for peace. And now thanks to Anduin it can be doable. The Kul Tirans is a part of the alliance, so if the alliance thinks working with the horde is the way to go, then you accept that, because YOUR queen has been part of that decision.
Helping thrall is a bit oofff, I mean I can get behind forgiving jaina (Kinda) but helping the Orc whom caused the whole Daelin situation to arise? Yikes.
I guess it’s charity work towards horde given the Zandalari navy essentially got completely totalled by the alliance during the fourth war. Its kinda wierd the char creation still refers to them as having naval dominance. They have maybe 3-4 boats left? Mekkatorque blew the rest up. Meanwhile the Kul Titan fleet is freed from the magical storm with the conclusion of BFA. Failing to see how the two are “naval equals” unless I missed a scene where the horde blows up 90% of this fleet?

No you’re right. That’s why it was said after the Battle of Dazar’alor that the battle would be remembered as a decisive Alliance victory by history, that’s why Nathanos told Sylvanas that the Alliance could win the war in a matter of weeks, Shaw also confirmed that statement.
And then in 8.3 it’s indeed shown that the majority of the Kul Tiran fleet is still standing, Jaina had it scour the Great Sea in search of Sylvanas. I predicted that the fleet was still standing and that only a small fraction was destroyed at Nazjatar. I was right.
So Yes, the Kul Tirans are way stronger than the Zandalari now and their legendary fleet is now the undisputed mightiest in the world. This was made clear in BfA.

Thrall is basically the only reamining friend Jaina, your curent Lord Admiral have, who is still alive, together they saved the world from the Second Invasion…? Even if you ignore the rest whats happened, thats kinda big and worth saving, plus the only Orc who was sane enough to realise, maybe the Old Horde’s way was wrong, lets not kill and conquer, but lets settle down, far away from everyone and try to find our way back to spiritualism, or ancestors and cultural heritage we sacrificed on the demon blood soaked Altar of Conquest
