Why is Orgrimmar so bad

Did trial of style on an alliance character I have and was reminded how sooooo much better Stormwind is than Orgrimmar

It actually feels like a city. Npcs going around everywhere, topper mcnabb shouting things, houses everywhere, and that grave for Varian like damn

Orgrimmar is still under construction over 10 years later, half of the buildings dont even have enterances they are just built into the mountain side, many of them still arent constructed

The music also is a huge difference. Stormwind has this absolutely epic music that gives you goosebumps. Orgrimmar music makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the Sahara desert and want to die. I get its technically in durotar but now that we have maghar there are plenty of epic warlords of draenor tracks we could have gotten with wardrums and chanting. NOPE! Lets give them the Vulpera theme instead

We don’t have a shipyard either, its either that one single pier or its bilgewater harbor that hasnt been utilized since forever

Worst offender is varians graveyard. It has a mural for the people who fell on the broken shore and just looks epic. Voljin has nothing and there is nothing to honor the fallen warriors

Its almost enough to make me wanna switch factions. Im on an RP server anyways

Org OP as hell, everything’s where it needs to be in range.

Remember that Orgrimmar is made to satisfy edgelord warmongers, not players who wants a peace-focused Horde.

Remember when little kids would place guns on their ships for the sake of it, but they look like if they fired, they’d hit other guns or the ship itself for self destruction? All because “it looks cool and stronger!”

That’s Orgrimmar, but with spikes.

Immagine the dissapointment of the Vulpera Caravan that arrived in Orgrimmar
“Okay, cool
 uhm
.whatever you have here, but where is the city? You constantly talked about the great city of Orgrimmar! You do realise we stopped in Dazar’alor, a real city, right? So we have some coparison
oh c’mon, We have better ruins in Vol’dun for sands sake!”

Not an orc? There’s a ghetto with your name on it, now get out of here!

We have one. Its called Dazor’Alor. Sea Ships havent been effective since both factions used Airships. And when they are required then the Alliance doesnt even utilize their Stormwind Harbor too btw but go to Boralus because their own ships are poop (and the boralus ones are also utter poop compared to the Zandalari)

The theme is intended to be Savage and feral. Also we have drums in the music. And unlike Stormwind Orgrimmar wasnt attacked by something called the aspect of death that destroyed a big chunk of the city. The worst Orgrimmar had to endure was one sack during Pandaria which in totaly only caused its doorgate to be destroyed. Everything else was left untouched during the siege.

Different believes. The Alliance soldiers dont want to die mainly. For Horde Soldiers its literally the best way to go. Also the Horde communes with Spirits quite alot while the Alliance does not to do so. Or so little its not worth mentioning. Forsaken dont care. Orcs dont care (read above), Taurens dont care because they return to mother earth (so practically the world is their graveyard), Trolls dont care because of Voodoo/spirits/loas. Goblins most certainly dont give a rats. Pandaren and Belfs would care at best and they would do so at home.

That the buildings are build into the walls is intended as the whole zone is intended to be the Hordes home. However that doors are missing on some buildings is indeed poop.

As for the ones still under construction. There are 2 in total. The one being the transmog house and some empty one at the other end of the drag to the valley of wisdom. Unless you want to count that part in the Valley of Honor towards Azshara as under construction because there are some construction materials there as that is not intended to be houses but Garroshs/The Hordes war machinery.

My issues with Orgrimmar are as follows;

  1. We have one major fortification, the Front Gate, yet we have 3 entrances to the city! The North Gate is pitiful and the West Gate is almost non-existent!
  2. Our Portal Room is in a stupidly unprotected location, right inside the Front Gate. Any aggressors could just walk in and seize the means of easily taking every other Horde city!
  3. Our “Port” is barely even a dock. Orgrimmar ends at its Front Gate, and there’s almost zero development going towards the sea!

Honestly, Orgrimmar does need an update. Even as a Capital for Barbarians, over time you’d assume there’d be some development. More buildings, homes, defenses.

Why haven’t we expanded into the Underhold properly? Why does Orgrimmar look like a Gen II Pokemon “city” with how sparse it is?

Hey, at least there is more sand for you.

No. Little human city is too classic
Ogrimmar 4 eva

There is still time to rethink your loyalties brother, the Alliance offers better, join the Void Elf gang.

Worst part is that Orgrimmar was actually revamped and updated in Cata, and it still look worst than Stormwind, which never got an overhaul like Orgrimmar did, they just added things over time, most of it still have 2004 graphics.

Just like most of the Horde, if this game had any logic and sense to it Blood Elves would’ve left the Horde way back in Wrath due to the stench alone, do you think these haughty and prissy Elves would feel comfortable on the side of the savages? Of course not, but hey you can’t smell through screens.

Both factions are hugely reliant on their wet navies for the bulk of their transportation and cargo needs. The Gunships are few in number and harder to make.

And the entire point of BFA was the Horde and Alliance scrambling to secure allies who are massive naval powers themselves ( Zandalari and Kul Tirans ).

God know why the Alliance was dragged in this
A fleet of ships are nice, but a bit redundant, when you have - as far as we know at the moment, not counting the Naaru - the most technically advanced race in the universe in your team!
You know the Exiled Eredar are a solid Type II civilization on the Kardashev scale even in Azerothian and Draenorian conditions :eyes:
While I love them, it was a bit huge mistake to toss such a race in to the mix, while the others around steampunk or techno-magical level
Even if you don’t count that laser the Vindicaar orbiting the planet could level the whole world just with some precisely calculated use of orbital kinetic bombardment weapons of mass destruction - surprisingly, G. I. Joe: Retaliation got that right with Project: Zeus
Not to mention the technology and stuff the Army o Light picked up during the eons from the member races (it suposed to be an alliance of the stronges survivor races hanpicked by the Naaru to be an Army, not just a bunch of very fragile Naaru, a handfull of Lightforged, a human , an elf and a dreadlord
)
On Draenor, Grand Artificer Romuul and the Artificers like him built shileds and energy weapons of deffense literally from stones and twigs, in primitive, stone age level conditions

And the Alliance courted the Kul Tirans
 for some ships.
Yeah, right
(This work in the Horde too by the way, the Botani bio-technology is so deadly, even one of those guys could wreak havok on Azeroth and the Gorian Empire, while basically stone age, managed to build those stone juggernouts you saw back in WC2, as sea units)

Orgrimmar has a massive underground complex courtesy of a certain Warcheif back in MoP.

That is probably why they live in Silvermoon, which is even cleaner than Stormwind. Stormwind has rats, Silvermoon doesn’t, it has cats to solve that problem, Silvermoon has magic brooms keeping the place neat and tidy, Stormwind still has dirty puddles lying around in some areas

I don’t think they’re too worried about Orgimmar, given that their own city is so sparkly. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well yes
Silvermoon and Suramar are TRUE cities
A lesser extent, the Exodaar too
but calling that derelict a city is a bit liberal interpretation of the word
