Because it’s useful.
One of the only magic dispels with no cd, and depending on dungeon it can be pretty useful. In low dungeons will prob not have much of an impact.

Can you give me an example of where to use purge in this season’s dungeons?
There is a table in the resto discord which has the dungeons that purge is talented in, I suspect the people there will be more knowledgeable about the buffs that need dispel, since I just do dungeons at a casual 12-13 level.
I just have a whitelist that highlights if something can be removed, so I purge w/e is purgeable at a pack.

Can you share your whitelist or addon or how it works please?
Don’t know how to do that since I use elvui, and only way I know is exporting my whole profile.
If you use elvui there is an option inside for filters, and you can put the dispelable buffs to be high in priority to highlight them.
I am not aware if there is another addon or option. Sorry if I was unable to help.
