So the other day I was trying to complete a solo mythic run of Castle Nathria. But I hit a brick wall with Kael’thas (I hate this dude) I came close a few times but then a random pyro clasm thingy one shot me again and again and again.
So I pop to a city and put a shout out asking if anyone could come help me.
Wow I mean wow. The toxicity I got from a simple request was mind blowing. All because I wanted to run some old content for transmog I was treated as if I ate a kitkat wrong, or Drank orange juice and enjoyed the juicy bits.
All because you want to max yourself out in the new content doesn’t mean everyone has to follow suit. I’ll play, and enjoy the game how I want and no one should be treated nastily for that.
It unfortunately sounds like you got the attention of some players who wanted more attention by being idiots.
The best course of action is to just add them to your ignore list and move on with your day. Those kinds of players are normally unhappy with their gaming experience and as they’re as a person. Just don’t give them the light of day, and they’ll run back to the rock they’re spend most of their life living under.
1: Yes, it is weird. But that is not a bad thing. We all do things in the game that the many in the playerbase finds weird. Pushing +30 keys is weird. Pushing mythic raiding for slight upgrades is weird. Farming transmogs is weird. Farming pet battles is weird. Grinding PvP is weird.
2: probably 100+ players read your message, but how many responded? Not a lot. The loud ones did. Don’t take the word of the loud minority as the opinions of the majority.
3: if you start a M run from transmog, you won’t find anyone to join you. Noone who is interested in farming mogs will lock themselves out of the bosses you already killed and therefore if they joined you they’d have no chance at killing this week.
Best option is to create a group in the groupfinder beforehand.
Tried the last SL raid solo yesterday. Also figured need help, didn’t ask yet but I thought that people probably gonna call me crazy for playing SL content xD
It isn’t weird. Blizzard actually encourage it. They have Legacy Buff and they tweak mechanics to make them soloable, although they could improve these measures somewhat.
Some players snuggled up safe and sound in their guilds or communities who don’t need to solo content or don’t want to just look down their noses at players who don’t play the way they do.
