Why Is Shadowlands Affecting My Cataclysm Classic Progress?

I originally completed the quest “The Vials of Eternity” (Quest ID: 10445) back in TBC Classic. I confirmed this by running an in-game script that returned the value = TRUE when running it.
Today, after finishing “A Distraction for Akama”, I was not awarded the Hand of A’dal title.

According to multiple comments on Wowhead, completing quest ID 10445 should still make players eligible for the Hand of A’dal title, even post-TBC. This specific quest was the key requirement for title eligibility when completing “A Distraction for Akama”.

It’s noted on Wowhead that this functionality was broken with the release of Shadowlands in 2020. However, Cataclysm Classic is not Shadowlands, and should not be subject to the same changes or restrictions introduced in later retail expansions.

Given that I completed “The Vials of Eternity” under its original legacy quest ID (10445), I believe it’s reasonable to expect the title to still be awarded. I respectfully request that this be reviewed, as changes made during Shadowlands should not interfere with expected behavior in Cataclysm Classic.

Just to clarify. I had completed the legacy quest not on my DK making this forum post, but on this Warlock which was my main in TBC classic. Obviously I also finished the rest of the Black Temple attunement chain on the same Warlock character.

If it is true that SL broke it the answer is quite simple…Classic is Shadowlands behind the door…well it’s Dragonflight right now I think. Not sure we ever upgraded to TWW yet.

Either way if the Retail developers never fixed this bug on Retail and the Classic devs also never specifically did for Classic, that’s how it is sadly. The chance of it getting fixed would be rather tiny so…good luck though!
