Why is sharing rare mounts a thing in wow?

Mounts like TLPD, Aeonaxx are iconic to the game. You HAD to be patient and compete with other campers to get your beloved drake.
Why do blizzard allow this crap warlock gimmick to create infinite amount of groups so they can loot tlpd/aeonaxx?

Yeah I think it was a bad change. All it’s really done is cheapen those mounts.

bad? it is terrible. My friend told me its fine because he doesnt have time to farm it on his own. You dont have time? oh what a shame. you wont have your drake then. It’s a mmo not “lets get everything with no effort”…

Simple (i disagree with it myself) they did it to combat bots and people selling them and camping them for insane money the change was made it patch 7.3.5 .

They changed the tagging groups and left it as it is. It was about as prestigious as invincible. Having said that I’ve still not tried it myself.

Please do not compare legacy raid mounts to open world rares with extremely low spawn rate.

How is this fixing “selling mounts for $” issue? It only makes them worthless. Completely worthless. What’s the next move? We dont like bots so we will shut down all the realms?
It’s funny how this is my first topic on wow forums. I used to lurk once in a while but when I saw that TLPD screen and then thought about my journey with tlpd… It triggered me so hard you have no idea.

everyone deserves everything

Stop being so angry at your fellow posters and read what i said .Bot and camping where stoping people from getting them period so it had to change somehow because legit players where not getting them.

Because CRZ removed the ability to camp one per server.

I’m sorry I didnt mean to be hostile towards you. Sharing mounts with 5man group is totally fine with me but that stupid warlock talent gimmick which allows infinite groups to tag it and get TLPD/Aeonaxx looks more like an exploit to me. Shame blizzard allows this crap.

I agree but like the lovely Puny said aswell soon as servers went CRZ it meant instead of fighting players on just one server it means fighting them on another 25 aswell as there is usually 26 servers per CRZ group :frowning:

Remove infinite sharing and we’re “gucci”. Like I said I dont mind 5man group working together towards a goal. Its a mmo afterall but 40 groups full of healers just to tag a rare seems like the dumbest way of getting super rare mounts.

It might have been prestigious back in the days. Nowadays it’s as prestigious as winning the lottery.

You make it sound as if winning the lottery is unappealing. I’d love to win the lottery. :smirk:

Me too, but winning the lottery would hardly be something to be proud of.

I don’t know. I think I’d be pretty darn proud of all the money I’d be swimming around in.

It would be great to hear from actual blizzard employee why do they allow warlock infinite sharing. If you don’t know what I’m talking about I can paste you how it’s done.

You wount hear from anyone until atleast 8am in morning as all at home unless being sneaky or US poster comes in which i doubt.

It is insane to me that they nerfed that random toy that allowed to tag a mob without killing it but they allow EXACTLY the same thing with warlock. It really blows my mind.
