Someone in azure span has just in the last hour said in general chat the location of 5 differnet ‘‘super rare’’ mobs that apprently drop up to level 385 loot.
Why are they called ‘‘super rare’’ they should be called ‘‘download add on to find’’
This seems really unfair and like it gives a large gameplay advantage not to mention the fact you have no chance of finding one of these rares unless you get the add on.
I thought the idea was that they were actually '‘rare’ and you stumbled across them and it was a really cool thing, obviously not.
I don’t think there is an easy way for Blizzard to disable mob scanning without breaking a ton of other addons. Sadly, this might just be one of those realities we have to live with.
I think at the very least (for the next month or so) the health of these mobs should be buffed to allow more time for folks too come tag.
They need to bite the bullet and just crack down on add ons eventually. I’m sure there will be alot of crying and whining at first but the kind of people who use them are the wow addicts anyway so they won’t quit.
Why shouldn’t it be allowed?
It could be called a “Rare” because it doesn’t spawn on the spawnrate off the normal mobs.
Or it could be called “Rare” because it gives “Rare” loot, with a (Heavy) RNG factor on it.
If it didn’t want to be found it’d be called “Invisible” not Rare.
They could just level out the playing field by making a big skull appear when one of them is alive? its basically what the rare scanner does for people using it, it would solve this issue imo
I mean on the world map visible at the range of the same as the addon has maybe? i dunno i use rarescanner since like wrath, i get Moraggs point though but since its available to everyone i dont see it as an unfair advantage, its just download and thats it, no configs needed.
Think some show on the map, just like in SL and especially ZM. They just go down so fast because there are always a lot of people waiting for them.
Banning addons won´t solve that. You can find spawn timers on the internet, would have to ban the internet…
Although I use an addon to alert me when a rare spawns nearby this is the list of super rares. Most of them have some kind of broadcast text when they spawn and the bulk of players just learn where the locations of these are with or without addons.
I do use Rarescanner to alernt me and Handy Notes to show me where all rares are located.
If the Rarescanner was blocked I would be spamming a macro instead with an automarker. I would use Wowhead to learn the locations of the rares.
