Why is the reagent bag slot there but not working?

Feature not finished yet? (Would be effortless to believe, hah.) On the other hand, it’s just simply another bag slot with a bag item type restriction. And this is the DF pre-patch, not DF alpha.

It works on beta, I have a bag in the slot on beta filled with reagents, so my guess is that it uses specific dragonflight/dragon isles reagent bags and not the ones we can currently access in pre-patch.

Hm, then if we wanted to be optimistic (which is always a bad bet, hah), maybe they need to somehow update the code of the existing bags, because the alternative would be that instead of reviving the appeal of the many already existing reagent bags (many of which are hard to attain and expensive to craft), they decided to just shovel unnecessary new content in, probably to inflate gameplay content by making us chase factions reps or such to be able to actually utilize that slot.
(I read the reason for the bag, though, is that in DF reagents come in different qualities and thus don’t stack so efficiently. - Sounds like another questionable design decision.)

Being completely honest I can’t remember how I got the reagent bag on beta, it was a few weeks back and as I was paying more attention to other things for feedback and bug testing it just didn’t occur to me that it would matter at the time (I have alts in the beta though so I can at least try to get another on one of those) I don’t think it was a difficult item to get hold of though.

Actually, I find this kind of fun. There are three qualities and the higher quality the better you crafting will be but the more you level each profession the more chance of higher quality reagents. For me it makes gathering and crafting (herbing and inscription specifically) more engaging and I want to progress them and get better quality reagents and recipes and craft better stuff, it kind of feels like professions matter where they haven’t so much for a long time.

Even cooking is fun again because you don’t just make a recipe, you can add extras to it to make better quality food.

It’s absolutely stupid that the existing profession bags can’t go to this slot. New players while leveling will be extremely confused. And annoyed if they spend gold on these bags.

Material stacks up to 1000 are not working too. The new UI and talents is the only thing from Beta that works on Live realms until prepatch phase 2

There are also quite a lot of undocumented changes that were not in the patch notes for some reason, like Shadowlands abilities now being disabled outside of the Shadowlands, and “Elusive” herb and mine nodes on Zereth Mortis now being shown on the minimap. Although this might just be a bug, who knows. It’s a total mess.

Tailors will make good buck. At the start of xp at least.
