It was objectively very bad and I’m sorry for all the 3D artists that poured their souls into it. At least they got paid some good money, I hope 
Speaking for myself, it actually made me feel unhyped for the expansion.

Come be fair this list shows perfectly her skills and mind set. It’s not even about failure anymore. It’s her screwing up even if she has the advantage.
Provably still a high rank , but one with less responsibility. Sylvanas does best when she is not In charge but can act under someone stronger.
Exactly this. If the just would have put Darion with the corrupted ashbringer instead who try’s to free the souls in the maw 10/10 more hype

This guy talks about the cinematic ruining lore and doesn’t even know that Ashbringer was cleansed and now lost its power since it was a Legion artifact.
Sure, bringing it back would have been so much more consistent than Sylvanas growing stronger through divine intervention of what might be an actual Titan.

Pure Saturation. She’s like Jaina in BFA. We get it Blizz, Women can be powerful characters. Most of us are already singing from that hymn sheet with real life examples like Boudicca and Jeanne D’arc, Elizabeth the First and Cleopatra. You practically can’t move in BfA without Jaina or Sylvanas showing up, or even worse, that cretinous idiot Nathanos.
Any character, forced down our throats ad nauseum is going to get dull, boring, and overpowered just as an -excuse- to shoe horn them into plot to fulfil some of the writing teams disturbing fixation on them. Oh look, Steve Danuser takes up a new position, suddenly Nathanos Blightcaller goes from being a pretty cool dude, to getting a new model, being everywhere, and undergoing a complete personality 180. Oh look, Christie Golden takes a hand in the story, who are the three characters she has publically stated she likes the most? Why that would be Anduin, Jaina and Baine because he likes Anduin and Jaina. Who gets too much attention in BFA? Why, that would be Jaina, Anduin, Baine, Nathanos. So Fan-inserts basically.
Sylvanas at this point has become a meme. She’s not playing 4 Dimensional chess, she’s scribbling with the red crayon in a colouring book whilst the chess game is happening. Neither her or Nathanos earned their place, Sylvanas’ was hereditary, and Nathanos because him and Sylvanas were banging. I mean in the story about him, Sylvanas drops everything, all her responsibilities as Ranger General just because Ranger Lord Nathanoskins loses his rag at the other elves being mean to him and runs away to Eastern Plaguelands. She’s the Ranger Frickin’ General. She shouldn’t be running off to deal with a petulant Ranger Lord, BUt of course, they are in wuv, because she, like the other Windrunners, have the family Kink for things that live as comparatively long as a Hamster.
Now she seems to be able to annihilate everything, and take any damage, and do anything. I mean what actually happened to that massive Forsaken Army Bolvar had? You don’t actually see her kill many at all, were they just standing and watching?
I’m bored of Sylvanas for the ame reason that Superman is a boring and dull superhero. If you can do everything, then anything you -do- is just bland, because it isn’t taking any effort.
Visually it was stunning, Blizz cinematics always are. But frankly, we’re reaching saturation point with Sylvanas, she has been written to commit the cardinal sin. NOt being a Villain, but being a -boring- villain.

Sylvanas made a pact with a WoW writing team which catered to her fandom and made her so powerful that she can faceroll anything she comes into, that’s the reason why the cinematic is disliked.

BUT HOLY DAM. They build a statue for MARAAD BUT NOT FOR Darion? Darion saved lights hope by commiting suicide. He was heartbroken after being there.
darion was never a paladin he don’t deserve a statue the statues in light hope are of paladins and thus since darion was not one no statue for him
So ? Why wouldn’t official quests be canon?
He was only in the argent dawn and fought with the silver hand. But Come on he killed him self for lights hope

I don’t dislike the cinematic at all, quite the opposite actually. I enjoyed watching it and I honestly think it’s great. I’m simply tired of Sylvanas, though - I was never interested in her character to begin with and I barely paid any attention to her. But now it’s kind of hard to avoid her because she’s constantly being pushed down our throats. I have had enough of her story.

This is what happens when you make a Mary Sue win her fight vs Lich King without even a little scratch. For the first time I disliked an expansion cinematic.
If we brutally murder Sylvanas in Shadowlands I may forgive you.
