Why is there a limit to valor points?

Like seriously. its insanely expensive as it is to upgrade a weapon.

Say you get a 2h from a +12 thats 4k valor points thats not coming back ever.

Its basicly impossible to get bis when droprate is as low as it is in this expansion and there is an absolute ocean of horrible trinket drops combind with strange stat comps.

So I have 2 characters that are my main dudes and both are super-capped on valor. Why?

I know you hate your player base but we few that still push a few extra m+ every week should get our currency for it. Why not a gold cap? Or an xp cap? or whatever pointless limit to a mechanic in the game that nobody wants.

Unlike pvp where you can plan out what items you want to get its harder in pve - YOU GET HANDED WHAT YOU GET. So if im a scrub-geared character i cant upgrade it untill i know that this is the final jigsaw piece to my gear and i need it… Great idea there, activision.

Hope the guy that made that decision stub his toe every day.

I feel like this feature was rushed into the game because the devs were trying to put on a bandaid on a problem that was there at the beginning of SL: loot scarcity

I’m especting them to tweak the system some more in 9.1 but we will see, as of now it looks like there wasn’t much thought put into it and prices are ridiculous

I hope they make 1 set of gear for each content. That would let they increase the drop on mythic plus. The problem was that people who did mythic plus and raid on legion and bfa where reaching the BIS set to fast.

In short terms you where forced to do both content if you wanted to progress with a guild or even pugs.

Right now mythic plus drops 207 max at end of dungeon and 226 on vault. Who reduced the requirement of m+ for raiding people since they can just get 213 on HC and 226 if they kill the first boss on mythic who is relatively easy.

Valor points are fine , the problem is the upgrade cost. Like myself i still havent gotten a weapon from m+ , have about 4k now. Still no drop, I might be forced to upgrade my m0 wep that’ll cost too much.

For PvP yes. Its just bs. We asked for a pvp stat or WoD style before it was launched. But hey as usual they dont listen.

PvP gearing is cool atm honestly and ita fun and what pvpers wanted.

I’m all for upping the ilvl rewards at the end of m+ dungeons because they too are ridiculously low but further dividing the playerbase by adding another set that’s m+ only? Not a fan honestly

I don’t think there will be other option to not force people do mythic plus to do raid progress sadly.

Or mythic plus people will suffer, like right now, or people who only do raids will suffer. I guess the 2 sets even if not a good solution would be some sort of mid term.

all they have to do is up the baseline rewards from 15s and increase the droprate, there’s no need to make people grind another set of PvE gear just to do m+
Also adjust the prices of valor point upgrades

Wait till the ptr is live next week. So we can see if the developers used their time thinking about some fixes

I know but the base reward for 15 will need always to be lower than HC. To not force people grind it instead of raid hc to progress on raid mythic.

Else raiding people would be forced to farm +15 cause is unlimited loot compare with hc raid who have lockout.

I understand what you’re saying but by adding m+ gear that only works in m+ environments will make raiders lose a substantial source of gear
I do both types of content and the idea of having to farm two separate sets for PvE content is so offputting

But that would open the door for blizzard to increase raid loot too.

I know is hard to find a system who will make both Raider and mytic + happy. Because one if unlimited farm content and other no.

But will need to see what blizzard prepared for 9.1

Cause on the end or people who do both will need to farm two sets or people who only do one will be on disvantage always, how was on BFA and Legion.

the answer is very simple. because they wanted

a)to force people into pvp
b)sell more tokens for people to buy boes

there is no other reason .

Bobby had to get his 200 mln $ bonus somehow.

the answer is most likely nothing. they likely prepared nothing so if you have any expectations they will suddenly rework anything you will be so dissapointed.

If they let the gear how is right now I don’t know if PVE people will keep playing

Cause I hate PVP and got forced to farm it, cause was best soure of gear, and don’t want touch PVP ever on my life.

The Valor Cap is just a dumb and lazy solution to prevent guilds from grinding M+ 24/7 next season to outgear mythic raid.

Do PvPers have a Honor cap for upgrades? No. They just can’t obtain more than one upgradeable item per week and this works fine. Should be the same with M+.
Let drop a new, capped useable material from 5+ keys named for example Anima Shards. 5 of them can be combined to create an Item that can be used on a single chosen M+ item to make it upgradeable via uncapped Valor. 5 Shards is the weekly drop limit (you can keep more in your bag) so you can push one item to ilvl 220 per week like you can do in PvP.

The current Valor upgrade system allows you to fully upgrade like 4 items till the end of a season, which is meh when considering its just 220 and gets replaced anyway.

The cap is like the conquest cap. So if you are behind you can catch up, but after that there is a limit. The initial 5k allowance was so that we could catch up on what would have been in the game already had the system been implemented from the beginning.

It has confused a lot of PvE players to have a PvP system implemented and many thought it was a currency they could just spend and top back up to the 5k repeatedly. Sadly it does not work like that.

210, not 207.

Mythic+ Item level Loot Table in Shadowlands Season 1

This is the Mythic+ Item Level Loot Table for Shadowlands Season 1.

Keystone Level End of Dungeon Weekly Great Vault
Mythic 2 187 200
Mythic 3 190 203
Mythic 4 194 207
Mythic 5 194 210
Mythic 6 197 210
Mythic 7 200 213
Mythic 8 200 216
Mythic 9 200 216
Mythic 10 203 220
Mythic 11 203 220
Mythic 12 207 223
Mythic 13 207 223
Mythic 14 207 226
Mythic 15 210 226

I love how others are complaining that there is a limit for valor and how for others there is literally no point at all for valor points.

In the core Valor was never the solution, just a band-aid fix. The issue lies more within the weekly vault, rewarding 13-16 ilvls more than the content you did…

Get rid of the vault, rescale m+ so that m+15 drops 220 and increase the drop rate again.

Reducing m+ drops and ilvl was a nice test, it failed, so it’s time to get rid of the initial problem and band-aid fix we stupidly asked for.
