Maximum 8 per week apparently.
I like to use trial characters to test transmog ideas on various races before I pick one for good. This limit is frustrating and feels pointless.
Is there a good reason for this?

Which is laggy beyond belief and doesn’t let me test my character in the real world.
It’s inferior to my solution.
Thats some serious barbie dress up you’re doing if 8 a week isn’t enough. It’s a bit of a contrived problem isn’t it?

Well your solution has a limit sooo.
to stop bots selling gold, etc

Well I’m testing for the new expansion’s max level boost.
Also, trial characters only have 10 gold, so you can only try one transmog at a time.
there is an Addon that lets you change race and try on EVERY mog in game
you will have to google it, think its called Mogit or something like that
Isn’t it to stop people using it as a means to mass farm stuff?
If you want to test mog you can do it on the PTR, it’s up most of the time.
Or selling names.
Do it like a real chad and level the alt to 70, test the mog, get bored of it. Repeat.

Or you are just weird and do dress ups.
So the actual reason is because of an exploit In Legion that let players generate 200k/hour gold by class trialing a rogue. Doing a 5 min quest for 10 k. Sending that to a main and the deleting and recreating the character
The quest still exists tho is massively tonnes down now. Yet the cap remains to stop this type of exploit happening again
