I mean that -is- how the military works…
I don’t think this is a thing anymore with Sylvanas as the boss…
I don’t think you understand what i mean. You’ve got an army of enemy players, you got a flying squad willing to die to take them out, why not just do it?
I remember your stories.
We had an army of enemy NPC soldiers to take out, so we did, That’s not being a douche, dropping mana bombs on player characters? That’s a douche move. So we prioritised targets, which was a neat way of not bombing player characters. I honestly do not see what the problem is. It had 0 Impact on anyone’s RP, it harmed 0 characters, it was in a place were 0 people could have interacted with it, and it affected the campaign to a given value of 0, except telling the Alliance -not- to use Mana Weaponry on the Horde Because we can do -this- Apparently the Alliance also had mana bombs in that campaign, I don’t know how, they don’t know how to make them, -only- the Blood Elves do, but apparently they had them, and threatened to use them on areas the Player characters were in. Do you see the common theme here? We were playing by the -rules- which meant no bombing player characters or any of that nonsense. So we didn’t, would have been all fine and dandy if the Alliance hadn’t done so, and the organisers Hordeside said “Yeah, this thing happens” "Hang on, that’s the thing we’re not allowed to do! Why can the Alliance do it, in fact -how?- can the Alliance do it, "these are the effects, " “No, wait, hang on…We’ve ruled this stuff out, and now they can use it?” Apparently they could. So we took the effects, because we are -roleplayers-. The next night, we attacked a bunch of NPC’s and people went WILD! “You Can’t use Mana Weaponry against NPC’s!” “Umm, you just did against Player characters?” “That’s different!” "Umm, How, " “That was Optional!” “Yeeeah, but we’re roleplayers, do you see a common theme here. Which players were affected?” “Umm…None” “So the outrage is coming from where, an Alliance ‘I win’ button” Oh no, wait, the Alliance -did- win, like every bloody campaign. But Sure, make the mana weaponry used on NPC’s and Ignore the Mana Weaponry used on -Player- Characters. That’s the smart move I guess… Whatever keeps you warm at night.
So you’re saying you WOULD bomb Player Characters, even though it is an insta-power-kill. You just didn’t in this scenario, because it made more sense to bomb the NPCs?
He bombed my eyes with text!
I think you miss the point.
Yes your activities had no impact on any other player in Redridge, but you’d like everyone to acknowledge you did it.
The requirement from organisers was that you not affect campaign mechanics. There was a scripted outcome for obvious reasons. There were agreed battle areas to prevent lag. There were areas won or lost through RPPvP.
So your side story involved no one from the campaign, affected no one, gave the alliance no chance to maybe be bombed and survive or be near the bombs and RP the running away.
So after you told everyone you’d done this thing. Some people are just “yeah OK whatever” because it created no rp outside your guild.
PS: sorry yet another thread has been derailed. Rakhuul it was a genuinely interesting topic, thanks for raising and thanks all for their answers.
/yell “pew pew”
Instead, the innovative usage of onomatopoeias provide a more immersive alternative.
You can even add /yell whoosh whoosh to add the wind
Not yet… now back to the subject.
People tend to find the /y gunshot a combination of disruption and self insertion as you are trying to gain the attention from rpers around the yellers especially since it’s reputation for being followed up by wonky rp
I think this point was brought up earlier but lemme…
There are more Gunshots in SW, a city with guards and a garrison and dungeon than there is in cities like Booty Bay where such wouldn’t be really surprising.
