It’s strange how she’s pretty much absent from the Capital and all that story, despite leading possibly the 2nd largest and most numerous flight. She’s been the (pretty much uncontested) leader of the green dragonflight ever since Legion, and she’s not present with the other aspects.
We’ve only seen a glimpse of her in the intro cinematic, after Alexstrasza saves the Watcher, and we see Nozdormu and Kalecgos swooping in, and a glimpse of a green dragon flying behind them for a moment, which was presumably Merithra…
And after that nothing. She wasn’t in Valdrakken with the other aspects in the first cutscene when Raszageth was freed, she wasn’t there during the questing, she’s not there in the open world, she wasn’t there when the raid opened and Raszageth was defeated, she wasn’t there when the aspects went to Tyrhold and rebuilt Tyr… she’s not even there after Ysera returned and made her the official aspect (kinda).
She’s just been doing her stuff in the Emerald Gardens in the Ohn’ahran Plains, and looking over the Shady Sancturay in the open world once you’ve done the quests. She’s just chilling there with “The Dreamer” title above her.
I find it annoying that she doesnt have a proper model. She was clearly made a key character for this expansion but her model is a bog standard NPC with old gear.
Surely she should have a model upgrade?
I think because she simply not needed to be there
Alexstrasza is there because she is the Queen and the Ruby Lifepool is connected to Valdrakken via an aquaduct anyway, it is just around the corner, could freely hang out in the tower
Nozdromu probably - like other Bronze dragons - mastered long ago to be several places at once in the same time
While Kalecgos solved everything at home in the Azure Span, the Blue Dragons don’t really need supervision nor his presence and have that personal little thing with Khadgar and Razageth
Merithra have better things to do, than just chill on the top of a tower doing nothing
I think it’s because the quest that officially makes her the Aspect is unlocked at renown 19. And evidently Blizzard haven’t bothered to make an epilogue quest that takes her to Valdrakken to the other Aspects, probably because there’s no need to in terms of story. I mean, you’re pretty much wrapping the last bit of story up when you do the quest line with her and Ysera.
When Blizzard moves the story forward in an upcoming patch and the Aspects have to do something, then she’ll be there alongside the others I think.
Right now the story basically just ends with Ysera making her the Aspect. Blizzard could have gone further and made a quest to formally introduce her to the others in Valdrakken, but they didn’t bother to, because it wasn’t strictly necessary. It can wait.
Blizzard’s story chapters is not the best of storytelling mechanics, but it is what it is.
