I am not leveling, i am just questing. TBH, i am avoiding to level too fast. Yet Blizzard is pushing me. First the event bonuses and now, with the new expansion, i was raised entire level instantly, LOL! Just for nothing! Why not make players an option to choose: level gradually or level instantly.
Theyre never gonna launch free boosting lol thatd be insane
You can lock your level and enjoy the zone and then unlock and breeze thru the rest. I do it on my alts. 10 gold to lock. 10 gold to unlock.
You need to talk to Behsten The Experience Eliminator in Stormwind Keep.
The solution to someone that enjoys leveling is not to not level up at all. They still want some sense of progression.
I got my prot warr from 1-60 in /played 12h.
No heirlooms. Shellfish cray cray.
Have they fixed the NPCs so they’ll freeze your XP again. I remember the first week of prepatch they stopped working.
I haven’t checked so it is possible it’s working again.
I agree but there’s an option already because once you unlock levelling is very fast. Of course the option might not suit anyone.
To experience the story is the point of questing; that experience doesn’t change whether you’re level one or sixty.
On top of what has already been suggested, you could try not logging off in rested areas.
Rested bonus gives you a lot of bonus xp and was made to incentivise people to take breaks. Heirlooms extend the rested bonus as well. So removing those will slow down the progression.
Because that would remove every sense and fun experience of progression in the game.
My main game Destiny 2 DID REMOVE character levels for new players (so they essentially start at a certain base power value) and it makes the entire experience weird.
Imagine you are a new player in Destiny 2 and you immediately start at Power 1350 and have no progression through level ups that teach you the game. You are basically thrown in and expected to learn “by discovery”.
Something similar would probably happen with WoW if Blizzard ever removes levels. They should imo just stop increasing character levels and only work with gearscore in the future.
Levels shouldn’t matter as long as the player has a choice to keep playing any content at the max level.
For me, leveling is about increasing the flexibility and complexity of my character - and ideally that of my enemies. Which can feel like progressing backwards I agree, but it could also be curbed with a difficulty toggle. Like torment levels in D3, easier is mindless zerg but harder is more rewarding.
A new character starts with just one or two spells, but eventually learns how to CC, escape, earns procs, travels faster as the world opens up, stuff like that. To me that is fun. It’s however offset with only being able to enjoy a very small part of the world at any time. My answer to that is chronic altoholism.
Wait what, they made it cost gold now?
It always did cost 10g.
The difference is, how much we have and earn these days. I recall that Azsuna around 43 gave twice that per quest - plus loot.
Imagine complaining about having the option to level quicker… There’s just no pleasing some people, always gotta moan about something.
They should nerf XP gains massively, and at the same time to buff heirlooms massively. One loom = 20% xp buff stacking ofc.
That way players can “fine tune” leveling speed with number of looms equipped.
…how did I not notice this?
There will be plenty of time to level up slower: in the new areas of the expansion.
The time to level up from level 1-60 is now changed to level 1-70.
The event will be over in 2 weeks.
After that everything should go back to normal.
In my case its fine as it is.
I have 23 characters at levels 53/54 and time is running out fast because I work 8 hours a day and I’m lucky if I manage to play for 2 hours a day. Hopefully I’ll catch up during the weekend
Cheers.
