Why? Mission Table Shadowlands

My followers are maximum level 34 lowest atm is 25 or so, BUT from my 10 -14 missions on the table 75% is at level 37 or even higher ? With most of them being silver or even golden Elite Quests, no way my champions are able to do any of these.

I can not even do most of those, the next campaign is LEVEL 48 and my Soul Ash quest is Level 40?

This is so messed up, the few Missions I am able to do even, are low level ones.

This makes no sense for most of the missions to be even above my highest level followers ?

How should I even get anything done like this?

You got here due to doing the Campaign mission too many times.
IMO that type of mission should have been given only once your troops and heroes are at an appropriate level.

It’s basically Blizz’s fault for not testing properly and not thinking ahead that players would just spam the Campaign mission because… they can?

The campaign missions were really unintuitive. Also the fact that each new adventurer you get at lvl 1 lowers the troop level.

Been in exactly that situation, because I burnt through the early campaign quests. Only answer is slow levelling, focus on putting groups together, keep running Torghast to get the Tank followers, grab the exp missions when they come up. You can do level 37 missions with a 23-34 spread if you’re careful. Picking up new followers will mean that you’ll get level 24 missions back. My followers now range 23-46, and can complete the 48 campaign quests, it’s taken 4-5 weeks, but it’s doable, and you’ve got ages till 9.1.

Why the fel did they had to put the followers in Torgast

put your faith in the rng and all is possible even winning matches where you have less hp then the enemy :stuck_out_tongue:

It is, most missions I successfully completed I had 75% of the enemy hp. Key is I had 200+% of their damage, and followers that mitigated their skills/powers. A 25man CN team won’t have more HP than Sire, mission tables work the same.

Mission table is pure mess, and should be overhauled imho.

You mean it should be removed.

i ran into the same situation, i out-leveled the follower missions for a lot of my lower level companions.

However, once they patched it, it did at least for a while get better. But now I’m kind of in the same situation.

The problem is that I did some of the high level mount quests, which funny enough I was able to do with around level 40 companions even though the quest was 60, so to my surprise I got two mounts off of it even though I was way under leveled.

I couldn’t complete the other missions though that were at level 60.

I now know that it’s not so worth leveling up companions, not until all companions are leveled higher. The missions are not worth the difficulty, they offer very little incentive compared to the lower level ones, like the gold and resources are often so similar and the XP missions still grant 1,500 xp regardless of their difficulty, dumb.

At higher campaign levels, you get rune missions, and runes sell for a fair price of gold. Additionally, the difference between a 280g and a 330g mission may not seem much, but when you do 2-3 of them each day on 10+ toons, that’s about 30-40k gold a month. Dunno about you, but I kinda like free gold. =)

This.

I’m doing these for the …fourth! … expansion now, and still resenting the hell out of them, because a) I know I will regret missing the mounts and pets if I don’t do them and b) I’m concerned they will put some questline progress unlock behind them at some stage.

You mean to tell me you have 10+toons at higher campaign levels, enough to get runes and have anima on each character to run missions all day and you take that as “free gold”, bro you need an intervention :joy: that is not free unless your time is worth nothing.

It’s essentially free. The only time investment is leveling the alts and getting the initial 1k anima to unlock the table. After that it’s just logging for 1 minute every 4/8 hours.

That doesn’t make any sense to me.

Some of the mission costs are 150, from what I remember just from memory, others are 50, 25, 10 where are you getting the anima to run missions once every 4/8 hours? Not only that you need to unlock companions through the campaign and pick them up in Torghast or you’re not going to have much of a squad.

How does unlocking the anima table for 1k and then just hitting cruise control from there on in make any sense? You would actually have to level each of your companions across multiple toons and some of the quests are longer than 8 hours and pricey and you would need to be able to do that to make the bigger cash ins from the gold missions.

I do it on a couple of alts, and I make the 1k anima weekly just from the table without actually playing them. After that I use this anima to run gold missions only until the next week. The only companions from torghast I got on those alts were during the farm for a rank 1 legendary. The table is self sustainable as far as anima goes.

I do, yes. Takes an afternoon to level a toon 50-60, a few hours to gather enough followers, a bit of anima for the table and to send out missions with. Then it’s 100% self sufficient. I had a ton of alts at 50, leveled through the XP boost during BfA, I leveled some of them to 60 to farm the table.

Initially, they farm anima, xp and gold. Not all 12 of them are at a level where runes are available, but half of them (the ones I leveled earlier) are. The rest will get there within a month or two.

I run most missions from the phone app while working, don’t even need to log in. The “free gold” part was referring to the 280->330g difference, btw. Leveling a mission table army definitely isn’t free. Doing the campaign missions when you farm the table anyway, however, is basically free gold.

The mission table. Anima missions usually reward about twice the anima they cost. So you weave those in among the other missions you farm.

Yes. All missions grant xp. You don’t need to rush to high campaign levels, it’s profitable even at lower levels. As you do your normal anima, gold, and xp farms, the followers will naturally level too.

Those are very rarely worth it. The only non-xp and non-campaign mission longer than 8 hours I do are the rune ones, and those are easily worth it. Runes sell for ~500g a piece on my server, and those missions get me 3-4, so ~1500-2000g for a 8-14 hour mission. If I were doing gold quests, I’d need about 20 hours worth of missions to match that.

Some of my alts have plenty of followers too, and I usually have more followers than missions worth sending them out to. So I can afford to send 1 or 2 out to longer missions, and still do all the gold and anima missions that pop up meanwhile.

Nah. The big cash is from the gold missions themselves, which are usually 3.5-4.5 hours each. Runes are nice and all, but those missions are far rarer than gold ones, so gold missions will net more gold in the long run.

Good on you for explaining all that, you definitely have put a lot of thought into it and understand the mission table better than I do. I completely forgot you can run anima missions.

I have mostly used the table myself for XP missions and I’ve been running them back to back from the beginning without missing a day, so I’m not sure if i just missed this rune mission or I am not paying attention enough to the missions.

With that being said, I’m leveling at least for now 3 Covenants on one character and the companions to acquire the mounts and what not. I find the process too painful to repeat on multiple toons and I’m a pvper so there isn’t much to do anyway for me and I hate being undergeared in this expansion and having to do the maw, torghast.

I tend to enjoy Alts once Blizzard has made the process much easier and less time consuming later on down the road. I really don’t think they succeeded in making the Alt experience fun in this expansion but perhaps the mission tables are making profitable if you have the stomach to get your toons situated.

I started using Covenant Mission Helper so I could see if Missions were going to succeed or fail. In addition to that you can also look up the mission on Wowhead and see suggested set ups. This is how I finally managed to get my campaign missions done and acquire the four mounts.

I hate the current mission table, it’s awful. It lacks any useful information and we have to rely on addons to fill in the gap. Some covenants are better than others, which shouldn’t be the case with something as simple as a side interest.

I finished the campaign but now xp and anima missions are much rarer :pouting_cat:

No longer paying its own way, table is now an anima sink.
