There were simply not enough weeks to properly collect all the transmog…
I guess Catalyst was initially designed not for transmogs, but as workaround for non-raiding M+ players, because raid sets have too much bonuses.
But for the LFR set there is LITERALLY no other way to get the transmog. It doesn’t even exist as a drop in the actual LFR raid. It’s total madness.
Also, at the very least they could make it clear when the Catalyst will be disabled. At the start of the season, or patch release? It absolutely makes a difference, because I’m missing 3 LFR set pieces, and there are 2 weeks left until the patch.
The belt is eluding me, across three difficulties. I have had no luck getting a low one from M+ to drop to convert and upgrade either.
I preferred the system last season.
The more burning question is why doesnt the catalyst work like it did it in SL: You unlocked it, and it gained charges with every weekly reset while retaining charges when not used. Alts got extra charges by default so they don’t fall behind that much.
No extra grind was needed to get charges every week, with each character.
I mean I get it, they want people to play their game, but this is a straight downgrade compared to SL which is quite hilarious, considering how much of a clownfiesta that expansion was.
It’s changing back to that in 10.1
I was able to get 3 charges this week from my alt army.
Just logged in and killed the dragon on each one after getting the quest.
Returned to alt 1 to hand in then picked the quest up again on the next fresh one.
15 alt later… 3 charges
Blizzard put this in a Blue post about a month ago. Haven’t seen an update since.
- Something we’re working on is making it so once a new Season begins, items from previous Seasons (so currently Shadowlands s3+4/Dragonflight Season 1) have no currency or charge cost whatsoever. This is to help people interested in hunting appearances and such that they wouldn’t be able to get otherwise.
Belt is where I struggled aswell. But at least you can use a Primalist Belt and upgrade it from Normal to Heroic colours for the time being.
Sounds good, but very vague, with a lot of questions hanging.
For example, Mythic+ items from the previous season will not be available anymore, and existing items will probably not be able to be upgraded either. If this is true, LFR appearances are still impossible to get unless you actually play LFR, and good luck with that.
For example, there is only a single leather glove in the entire raid from one single boss, and the drop chance on LFR is absolutely miserable, the % chance for you too get what you want is in the single digits. And let’s not forget that almost nobody will play last season LFR.
They just really dropped the ball on this.
They need to stop insulting people’s intelligence, and just unlock all transmog from lower difficulties by getting the higher one. Including PvP, where you should get gladiator transmog after getting the elite gladiator unlock. Else, people get the elite gladiator transmog or the mythic transmog before they get the LFR or normal gladiator transmog, which is just stupid
Yeh, that’s my thought as well. But then, we have the Primalist gear for Normal and Heroic (which I’m sure will remain upgradable). And the any item you collect from the Mythic raid, will be able to go in for conversion.
It’s only really the LFR colours that you might struggle with. But I do remember reading another Blue comment (might have even been in the same thread or post), that they recognised LFR sets were harder to collect than they wanted them to be.
Just made a post earlier complaininh about this too! Ha!
Yeah, its a shame but I assume the lack of charges is to stop people power spiking quickly.
Gameplay seems to last longer if it takes you 4 weeks to get tier rather than 1!
For a new player, yeh. But for a an Alt, you have can 4 piece as soon as you ding 60.
Blizzard have said that they will be removing the Quest and highlighted that it feels bad for players who started later. So you’ll be getting charges weekly without any pre-requisites. I can’t remember if they elaborated further on it for late comers though.
They’re also increasing the Tier drop rate at the start of the Patch from both Raid and Vault, to help players get their tier sets quicker. (and reduce it later on when players don’t need tier so much).
I started late into 10.0.7 after a bit of a break. My own fault I missed the previous weeks’ quests.
If its anything like the final season of Shadowlands then it’s the quest that stops you gaining charges. You’ll gain them passively in 10.1
