Literally the only difference between PVP and PVE servers is that you get auto flagged for PVP when you enter contested zones, and you cannot turn it off. So why not do it yourself, or download some addon that auto-flags you for PVP whenever possible.
That way you can attack everyone else who wants some of that PVP action, you can attack guards and vendors and innkeepers, and the people who simply don’t want none of that can remain unflagged and go about their business of questing or just sit there watching you wreck havoc.
Why are PVE realms so unpalatable for PVP players?
At this point they should just introduce Warmode in classic and be done with it. I myself am playing on the PVP one because my friends want to play there… and since i’m the only one out of a company of 9 that wants to play on a PVE server no one really cares to listen to my opinion on the matter.
Most people who say that world pvp is good are usually pretty bad at pvp in general and just want to be able to kill the random leveler that runs past them or camp some spot where people turn in quests etc.
The problem is, if the Thekal queue players come to Giantstalker, we would have a queue, too. In the end both servers would have a 4000-5000 queue which is bad for both servers. And it will only get worse with the real launch of WotLK Classic in 3 weeks.
Because a pvp server make the experience feel real. Nobody can escape PVP so you can “play” with everyone, meanwhile in PVE servers, people can chose to not be attacked, AND since they chose a PVE server they probably will chose PVP off anyway.
why do so many people that will probably waiting to roll on the the best thing since slice bread apparently “thekal” - will cry about being killed then?
most people on that realm won’t have any intention of PvP but to get to 70 asap- why not go PvE?
Because a pvp server usually has better pvp players, it gives the opportunity to do arena with better players overall and reach a higher rating for example.
People want PvP so they can initiate combat, not so that they can walk around with a target on their heads while others are immune. This is irrelevant anyway because most people don’t like world PvP, that’s why the server balance is screwed.
But still, saying PVE server with PvP flag on is the same is really just missing the point. Lets say you’re contesting quest mobs, or resources like herbs/ore, if you were on a PvP server you’d end up fighting for ownership of those things, you can’t do that on a PVE server.
All that said, with the way PVP servers are right now you’d get more PVP action on a PVE server, Mirage Raceway had a thing going for a while where the alliance would just protect hellfire towers all day/night and gank the crap out of any horde, which kinda screwed it up for both factions trying to do the daily, but the fact they had both factions meant they had some PvP (everyone hated it btw).
