I kinda like the aesthetic of a shield sometimes, but it’d be nice to have the option to mog it to something else.

come to think of it didnt we get a stormwind/orgrimmar set with garrisons?
That means any alliance has a plate set and any horde has a leather set!

Exactly. Just as a side note, Kadghar is wielding a sword in the Warcraft books. Yet I haven’t seen him ONCE wielding a sword ingame.

I am a powerful Arcane Mage and plus i know martial arts too. And as you can see from my fancy tmog i look like a battle mage so ofc i want extra plate options to make even fancier tmogs. Class fantasy should be player choice i agree with you.
What is a paladin?
A holy priest who knows how to fight and wears plate…
For example, why wouldn’t a mage could learn how to wield a sword - magical sword! And wear rune and enchanted plate? Be an awesome battlemage, who tosses a fireball in your face, then hit you with a rune covered blazing magical sword?
Really no reason for transmog restrictions
Mages already have swords and an offhand anyway…
Or a glass cannon probably would want every proetction he could have, barriers, or half a ton plate armour… mobility is not an issue anyway a mage usually stands still while casting and if you have to retreat, then just teleport, you don’t have to run

Stop it, you’re going to make me want a melee mage spec that I’ve given up on wanting. Imagine it, spell fencer, wielding a one handed weapon and an off-hand, casting short to mid range spells and enhancing their weapon with the residual energies to use spell enhanced melee strikes…
Could also have a melee warlock, just rip off Pact of the Blade/Hexblade Warlock wholesale /laugh Summoning weapons, Eldritch Blasting and Smiting fools in the way.
Anyway, what was the thread about? Oh yeah, transmog restrictions. Yeah, sure, loosen them up, more options for personalisation are great.
Teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeechnically true, but the two have significantly diverged since the creation of paladins.
Yeah no, warlock and DKs have literally nothing in common, DK skillset is ‘fallen paladin’ not ‘armoured caster’
Besides, that’s beside the point, asking for looser transmog restrictions means they want more options for customising their own current character, they likely don’t want to go play a whole different class. And ability to combine different armour types would lead to a whole new set of options that’s entirely unavailable currently.

Not all dark magic is born equal.
Warlocks are connected entirely to demons and fel, they have no control over death (outside of causing it by murder) while Death Knight powers are closely tied to death and necromancy.
Demon Hunter is far more of a martial warlock than Death Knight could ever hope to be.
I think in endgame, all armor a class can wear should be viable.
For example, plate armor should have overall less haste, maybe be unable to even have haste as a main secondary stat, and mail can have haste as a main secondary. So warriors who want to stack haste should have to wear lighter armor. Of course then you have the issue with hunters wearing mail and leather, but you get my point.
Then the restrictions won’t matter that much.
The stats should be relevant to the armor they come from and players should mix and match based on what they need.
we alredy have renown armor , shop trasmog armor in game what can be trasmoged on any type of armors so …
even preoder dragonflight gives armor what can be trasmohed on any armor type

tbh my main thing is with weapons.
a fury warrior should be able to mog 1 handed weapons over their 2 handed weapons etc.
I’m a Worgen Rogue and I’d really like to use fist weapon transmogs, but I can’t.

They should let Warriors and Rogues transmog Warglaives, because they are the original classes to use those items and it’s dumb that there are Warglaive Rogue/Warrior players from actual TBC with Warglaives collected during the period that cannot use those weapon appearances.
