I think this is a very valid point, however, Blizzard have come up with dubious reasons for some Allied races to join us (Void Elf/Nighborne).
So?
It’s not like the Alliance is actually going to dedicate any resources to “killing off the Vulpera” for no reason, so it’s not like the Vulpera “need to ally with the Horde for protection”.
That’s just ridiculous.
Horde helped them, Alliance didn’t. There is no reason for the Vulpera to side against the Horde and join the Alliance.
There is no reason for the Vulpera to join ANY side…
Well there is, maybe you should level a Horde through Vol’dun and you’ll see why
I love reading your posts Brigante, they’re the best. Glad to see you’re still on the forums!
Sure, I’d love to read the bullcrap things they made the Alliance do to justify nonsense.
Same with how they made the Horde attack an innocent human village in whatsitcalled because “evil horde” nonsense.
Well, the major player on their home island, Zandalar trolls, joined Horde so it if they join as well they could get protection from them.
Ermm…What? I mean they quite famously do -exactly- that. The Alliance do that! Its in game, that all actually happens…
See this is why I always play through Expansions on ma boi Brigante here, and also ma boi Nabaal on Alliance side, so that I can actually make level comparisons and understand the story. Basically Naeya, what you describe is in fact -exactly- what the Alliance do. They start attacking them, killing them, burning caravans. The Vulpera at this point are a -neutral- race, a Neutral race that feels it has no choice but to ally with the people who -haven’t- been killing their people and burning their caravans, for protection against those that have. WHat you are describing, is what the Alliance actually -do-, Which is why the Vulpera go for Team Red.
OK, Lets examine that.
Why Join the Alliance? Tumbleweed blows past
Why stay Neutral? 1. Our trading partners are all joining the Horde power bloc, and we need protection from the Alliance.
WHy join the Horde? 1. Our trading partners are all joining the Horde Power Bloc, the Horde have helped us with the tyranny of the Sethrak, the enemies of the Horde, the Alliance, showed up out of nowhere and started killing us, if we stand alone, they will purge us, wipe us out, we need allies to resist this alien aggression.
Come on, saying the Vulpera have no reason to join a side is more than a little disingenuous, wouldn’t you say?
Why thank you kindly, I try to be informative, if I can’t be informative I go for sarcastically funny, if I can’t do that, then dammit, I better log in again and actually level my poor Tauren so he can get that sweet Heritage set.
You come across as very bitter. We (the Horde) are allied with them they are one of our factions. They are our Ally.
I’m sorry if you can’t see why they would be an Allied race to us when we are the ones that helped them and formed an allegiance with them.
I don’t think the two of you are catching my drift. I KNOW that that is what the “story” says happened.
I am saying the story is garbage writing on par with fanfiction written by 11 year olds, lacking consistency.
“We are stretched thin and can’t spare resources” + “Let’s dedicate resources to harassing neutral caravans” = DOES NOT COMPUTE.
Well then…that -is- what happened. Why did people complain for ages that the Alliance were too ‘good’ and should be a bit grittier, and the instant they are, people are like “n-no, not like that, we’d never attack neutrals” Suck it up.
I’ve seen fanfiction written by 11 year olds ( I have a very niche couple of jobs) and no, this is nothing like it, Trust me, 11 year olds for a start do not have a crucial grasp on several concepts that run through WoW. Love, Loss, Despair, and Redemption. They can feel some of those concepts, absolutely! but not properly express them, so certainly cannot write them.
World War II says Hi! British attacks on the Vichy French, during their ‘Darkest Hour’?
It -does- make sense though. The Vulpera are conveying supplies to the Horde. How is that not a viable target during wartime? Just because the Vulpera are neutral and do not even know the Alliance exist, does not excise that fact that they are carrying supplies and aiding the Horde, even if nominally neutral. In fact detailing forces to cut off enemy supply chains is -exactly- the sort of thing you do when stretched thin. An army that can’t properly operate is one easier defeated, or avoided, I mean that is the essential -reason- the LRDG was formed, or as later became known, the SAS. Its sound Military thinking.
Blizzcon 2019 is going to be the last of my hopes for playable Sethrak. With the release of Vulpera and Mechagnomes the last remaining slot is attached to Undead and Worgen; since Sethrak share the Worgen skeleton, I don’t believe all is lost.
And I hope Horde gets shafted with Lightforged Undead to see how it feels getting something generic for once
Sethrak does NOT look WoW’ish, come on.
Glad they didn’t make it an allied race for the alliance. I’m already bummed enough at the factions.
Yes, yes, opinions.
By what possible metric, aside from your personal tastes?
10 characters to be allowed to post;
The horde got Vulpera, not the alliance. Calm down.
Mechagnome racials are OP. Will totally play one.
Personally would’ve loved to see Sethrak as playable, horde or alliance matters little. Hell even Neutral ala stupid pandaren would be prefferable.
Could re-use helm assets from male Worgen for “buu huu helmet issues”, shoulders is a lost cause on help, they clip on every race and need I even point out Orc and their massive shoulder pads?
Mechagnomes are - in my biased opinion - a waste of an allied race slot and should frankly have been a costumization option for gnomes.
But I guess with alliance getting 3 shades of human again, they had to find something to make an alliance aligned allied race while horde has more interactions with both Sethrak and Vulpera (and also Tortollan).
