I agree lfr doesn’t bother me i do not take part in it but i do not wish to destroy something some people may enjoy, like you said and i noticed on my friend list the people alliance or horde that want to get further in raiding and mythic content always manage to !
Thing is even when you are not take part in LFR it still affect you. Its affects everybody you just dont see it or you dont care.
LFR removed lot of player friction which is exactly what you want to have in mmo game to create social enviroment and sense of the living world. It also erroded presqigue of raiding scene and kinda made bosses into this boring w/e characters what we used to care about. Its hard to care about Nzoth when entire playerbase is capable of killing him. You have this old god, ancient monster and hoopps he is dead ok who is next? Really hard to care.
True, i was i know nobody care but i used to tank way back and well i would sometime wait on my fishing chair full prepared outside of Karazhan and a guild group woud come and we would run it all clear and it felt awesome for them and for me.
True it feels less appealing when everybody can do it but the game took that direction so and the people in charge are hard to listen even the removal of guild loot … basically whatever we would say except a few small things they will say no and to do otherwise …
I’d argue LFR is harder and takes longer than Flex raiding.
Rewards vs time isn’t there anymore, the 1st LFR with Deathwing was an experience lol but the loot was worth the many many many wipes.
Now it takes 30mins+ to pop then how ever much longer to kill a boss out of 2-4 for loot that can be gotten off world quests in a fraction of time…
LFR’s main selling point is to keep solo players subbed. And no, removing it most probably won’t make them raid “properly”, it’ll just chase them away. Whether this is a good or bad thing is for Blizzard to decide.
I think that more social players still have this mistaken belief that if LFR wasnt there people would be forced to do normal/herioc/content instead.
The truth is that all less social players would just go back to leaving out raids and dungeons entirely! LFR is great for the shy wallflowers among us who want abit of group content but not to feel pressured to have certain ilvl or achievements.
I def think it shouldnt give decent ilvl gear though. Normal and above is where you should be farming your gear…LFR should be about getting your feet wet, seeing the story and maybe collecting some nice transmogs along the way.
LFR would like to register an objection, to the honourable gentleman’s sweeping, hyperbolic generalisation.
LFR would like to proudly point out, that N’Zoth is in fact wiping the floor with many groups, as is fitting for the end of Expac boss… this helps people discover Raid mechanics and learn about researching more difficult in-game challenges (which is also the case with other Nya’lotha bosses)

I am not saying just Nzoth i am talking about every single boss in LFR. Non of them have any value becouse they are defeated by everybody. You kinda have to literaly pretend that those bosses are not killed by LFR players in order to care about their power and what they represent.
I don’t hate LFR per se, I just hate the AFK’ers and lazy sods that plague it, expecting others to carry them.
I absolutely can’t stand lazy people, both in-game and in real life.
I take the point you are making, however LFR drop ilvl does help people who are considering joining a guild for higher level content…and helps give those who will not be progressing to higher levels, a feeling of power advancement while doing PVE world content.
Literally just wiped in LFR to Mini-Me N’Zoth… you were saying?
People hate on LFR because it’s too hard for them.
Update: LFR group fell apart after 1 wipe… so no, ‘everybody’ is not beating all the bosses…and that has been my consistent experience of Nya’lotha…still to defeat N’Zoth, after approx 20 attempts… but as I say, I’m enjoying the fact it’s a challenge.
I must have been extremely lucky then. Did it on my first try with only 7 stacks.
You were lucky to get a group that stuck together for 7 stacks of Determination… most do not wait much beyond three… I did have one promising group that mostly stuck together for 6 stacks… but, I then had to go to work… c’est la vie.
Honestly it’s not a hard fight but if you look at logs most of the times you’ll get a few people in there who are just looking for a carry and will auto attack at best and that doesnt help.
Tbhy if everyone pitted their weight in you’d have these bosses down in one shot 99% of the time but alas most people are lazy ********.
Probably doesn’t help, that I often play late evening/early morning.
What training mode? People do LFR and they (some) believe they can just jump in on normal or heroic immeadidly, since the mechanics you mentioned, really for most parts do not need doing in LFR.
Wrathions galeblast, burning cataclysm and scales are mechanics people must do in higher difficulties, in LFR however no need really, if you die to them no big deal theres a few ppl who know what to do they will carry.
Maut annihilation and obsidian skin, same applies as with Wrathion, so you died no biggy, they will carry you.
I tried it using only lvl 60 gear from vanilla wow and using only healing rain, i got carried whole 3 wings, noone said a word, i died on every single boss and most trash pulls, so I ask where did I learn mechanics?
That is why I do not like LFR, it doesnt teach anything mechanics vise, it gives way too good ilvl gear for basicly nothing.
Now I know it was made so non raiders could experience how the story folds, and this is all fine with me, its actually something I fully endorse.
But it giving same ilvl gear as m0s for nothing and people asking for higher ilvls in forums and that it honestly doesnt teach any mechanics at all you actually have to worry about.
So heres my suggestion for LFR … make it have ALL the mechanics as raid version, have the mechancis kill as easy as they do in raids if you mess them up, but have bosses have lower dmg and hp, and in regards of ilvl, if this was to happen then I would be just fine it bein same ilvl as m0s cause then people would have to learn the mechanics.
In other words you deliberately went in looking for groups that would carry you… many check logs and kick ‘afk’ers’ and peeps who cannot retain sanity for N’Zoth… so, your experience is not universal… simply because you were not approaching it as someone who learns from their mistakes and does some research when they die from a mechanic they do not understand… you deliberately wanted to find fault…so gratz, you achieved your aim… have a virtual cookie
Indeed. I go in with the mindset of learning the fight, and i do.
Obviously you can get carried. It is the lowest difficulty, with even only 415 ilvl requirement. In every difficulty people can get carried. The higher you get the less people can per raidgroup. That is quite obvious, but you can even get in some mythic bosses, die at the first second and get the kill.
