Why pvp + pve weekly vault is still split?

Dear Blizzard,
You current pve + pvp gear split (aka pvp gear is only rly for pvp gear + pve gear only for pve) is great, there are no real mixing between pve + pvp gear as it should be, and the gearing system is better than ever.
But… You can’t expect pvp people to do pve when usually the best pve gear (pre-mythic raid) is from weekly vault, no one likes to play when they are behind on gear, same goes for pve’er trying pvp, there are no fun in doing arenas first 2 months of season when u r behind on 5 conq gear (usually from vault) because you chose pve gear over pvp from vault.

What I am saying, it makes 0 difference at the moment to get 2x loot from vault (1 from pvp reward, and 1 from pve reward) because they are both sub-optimal for each other. I just think it would be great for people to do both stuff without suffering loss of either, I dont like to lvl 2 chars 1 for pve and 1 for pvp. However, I admit getting 447 pve gear will give advantage for pvper over pvpers who didnt pve at start of season, and not sure how to fix that (maybe scale down pve gear to honor gear in pvp content?)
Even though I mainly pvp, I dont mind doing 1 m+ for extra pve loot and slowly build pve gear every week (in fact pve loot is more exciting as there are a lot of possibilities)
What are your thoughts guys?

Doesn’t PvP require tier as well?

I don’t really PvP so excuse the noob question.

excellent point, most classes they do require 2 or 4 tier yes so that would be an advantage as well to pvpers who pve.
I just don’t think the weekly reward should prevent people from doing pve or pvp if they wanna do both.

generally it is terrible to the point that if you play both contents you will fall behind because you cannot choose the gear for both contents.
it is just bad design.
pvp should not have a vault at all and just give more conquest points to earn every week

PvP shouldn’t have any gear progression at all. It should be 100% skill based.

I personally prefer when PvP and PvE gear are different. Then I’m not made to go PvP to get gear. PvP players don’t like having to do PvE either. There will always be some who do it all but many stick to one or the other.

gear prog is fine if it is linear, has no rng and is not bound to weekly task where you can fall behind if you miss one week

basically just make it conwuest points but let people reasonably earn cq through non rated activities. it is always annoying being farmed with no gear in rated content trying to gear an alt later in season. still dont know how this crap is still in the game

Even if it’s linear, and even if the best PvP gear is only 10% better than the worst, I still don’t see why that’s needed in PvP or how it makes the game more enjoyable. PvP beginners are already at a huge disadvantage due to having less skill/knowledge about that game mode which is vastly different from PvE. Why punish them further by making them play with inferior gear?

PvP is already unpopular because it’s so poorly balanced and the rating system is broken. By still having this ridiculous barrier to entry for new players, it’s no wonder that no new players are giving PvP a try.

PvP should only rewards cosmetics. There should still be some weekly PvP vault, but it should be for transmogs and stuff like that.
