Didn’t they promised a faster pace release cycle? So now we are going to get 3 seasons per expansion, each lasting for half a year!? Its trash, much disappointed. Half a year playing same 8 dungeons isn’t a fast pace
For the EXPANSIONS.
The patch cycle is basically the same as it was in DF.
It was a ridiculous season. The players were divided into two. Sam paladin and others. Then Deathknight joined them and Priest also joined them. Mythic dungeons became trash. It was one of the worst seasons.
Yeah, mythic plus was an absolute trash this season, and they didn’t do anything about it. I mean they kinda tried to nerf tank busters, but it was not enough and too late.
For me it was the first time since 2018 when my game time ended and i didn’t renew it. I played “worst” seasons of shadowlands all the way through, but this season made me super mad.
I am not even against playing same 8 dungeons for 2 years. They just need to be fun. And classes should be fun. Just compare shadowlands elemental shaman and now. Now its some overbloated circus tons of filler buttons just to keep braindead dd people busy. So they dont even have a time to look on the screen and kick something
Better than 2 years ! That was the case before.
5 months felt too short, but 7 months was outright silly.
This (part of the) paragraph is made of 100%, highly condensed truth.
They prob wont do “awakened” season this time.
you know that in all competing/rival games, a season lasts 3-4 months max
4-5 months would be great for wow, but they absolutely need to speed up the timegating from the beginning, nobody likes that
Personally I prefer to play mid-late season now, whereas before I preferred to play early, late
In the competing games (I assume you don’t actually mean MMOs, because lmao, but rather season-based online shooters and things like that) a season lasts 3 to 4 months max because they are much less complex games with much less content per season. None of them have to do a new raid, a new zone, tuning for 8 dungeons, changes and fixes for 39 specs (each of which tends to be more complex than a single character in those games.
The last time WoW managed to do shorter seasons was Legion (a 5-month cadence, give or take, followed by 10 months of downtime to BfA launch). While I’m not opposed to going to 5 months per season, I don’t think Blizz currently has the manpower to pull it off.
If you do want to compare things to competing MMOs, compare the current cadence to FFXIV, which currently has functionally 9 months per season and no M+ analogue. Or GW2, which might get “seasonal” content drip-fed for more than a year. Or ESO, which has you functionally buy every “major” season once a year, and has large updates on a 6-month schedule while generally not introducing a lot of content between “major” seasons.

The gap between x.0 and x.1 is typically around 6 months for the last 6 expansions (including TWW).
There was the promise of a quicker release cycle for expansions. I’d assumed this meant no season 4 rather than shorter seasons, which is absolutely my personal preference. I barely touched SL season 4 and unsubbed for DF season 4 as no new content* = no point playing.
*Plunderstorm and Pandaria Remix don’t count as WoW Retail content as far as I’m concerned.
The content itself, maybe not no.
But the rewards are definitely for retail. You can like or dislike that.
I personally like it: I loved the MoP Remix stuff we could earn.
I’d say that Pandaria Remix half-does. It was essentially a timewalking event on super steroids. Plus it rewarded almost every cosmetic reward from Pandaria, effectively removing the need to farm those in the “true” Retail version.
I actually enjoyed it, but otherwise I would have taken a break until TWW. For me it was just chill content, but maybe not for everyone.
To be honest most of you wouldn’t be satisfied no matter what they do. IMO 6 Month is great. They will do 3 season per expansion which will be one and a half year + a couple of weeks. That is way faster than what we had before it.
I really don’t care, this case was a blizeard in the past, but a season of 6/7 months is way too long, everyone agrees on that. A season should last 5 months MAXIMUM and that’s it, otherwise it’s just bad. It’s a real fact. And yes, canceled the farm tie gate at the beginning, they artificially extended the duration but it’s just too bad for the game
“I really don’t care about how things work, cater to me!” attitude, right. Do you actually have Season 1 of TWW completed on a basic level, without extra challenging content? That is, do you have at least all 10s cleared in time and AotC? If yes, then how long it’s been since you’ve completed those? If not, then you’re not engaging with the content the season system is dedicated to anyway.
