Why so scared to add more/new abilities?

Legion and BFA are day and night .thats why i have said :

Yeah this idea that everyone had everything in MoP is flat out wrong and disingenuous. A full kit does not mean that classes play similarly, they really didn´t.

That´s not true at all, BfA is Legion class design stripped of artifacts.

Yes ,which lead to classes be day and night

Not really, 3 of my friends left the game because they were bored of their 3-4 button spam rotation with barely any mechanics, one made rogue, second played as mage and third as paladin then rerolled to dk (because of class fantasy)… They prefer to play LOL because of , you know , characters there also have 4 skills in rotation and lol has like hundreds of them, rather than 12 classes with really shi*ty class design

Don´t think you know what the expression means in that case.

I play Unholy DK~ but lets say few words about Frost Mage!

Frostbolt, Ice Nova, Lance, Frost Nova, Lance x2, Freeze, Lancex3, Flurry, Cone of Cold.

7 for single target at level 30ish
Add AoE with few ulitity spells and it will already will be too much :weary:

Fire mage and Destro warlock were pretty similar though.

Fireball → incinerate
ignite → immolation
Fireblast → conflegrate
Pyroblast → chaos bolt
mobility was practically the same, fire mages could shoot instant pyroblasts whilst warlocks had casting whilst moving (with a slight movement speed penalty)

This might have been one of the exceptions though, yet the changing of the talent system made a lot of stuff baseline. and caused a lot of overflow between classes.

Frost actually has a few too many damage abilities (one of few specs) making their damage not bursty enough, we need big shatter combos back. Frostbolt and Ice lance need to hit hard.

since when you use frost nova, ice nowa ( YOU SHOULDNT EVEN PICK THIS TALENT), freeze and cone of cold in st, PVE situations ??? how much dps you do? 1/4 of second best on m+ ?

I played both, totally different. Alter time shatter combos with Deep Freeze (tricky set up) compared to brute force powerhouse gameplay with destro

if Legion had the class wide toolkit of MoP or even WoD, it would have been a solid expansion class design wise but sadly it didn’t and I hated playing most classes during that expansion.

Unholy dk was fun for a bit but got boring pretty fast, DH was exciting for about 2 Seasons but just because it was new, everything else super boring in my opinion.

No can do my good sir

[Snaps fingers before proceeding to remove pyro and fireball from fire mages and summon demon from demonology and giving it to demon hunters]

Perfectly unbalanced, as all things should be…

This talent is awesome and gives me 1 shatter (root) for free. Its awesome in PvP and PvE dont care about 5% dps

But I am using Claw at DK while going full mastery. Meta is for plebs

are you kidding me? did you play mage ? they use frostbolt ice lance and flurry only in st situations my dude, additionaly maybe glacial spike if they are talented

I´m thinking of pvp, pve its different of course, yeah was a bit hasty in my posting. In Pvp you have to take Ice Nova, Ray of Frost and Comet Storm to do damage. Icicles should just be baked into frostbolt direct damage as well. Frsotbolt is way too weak to feel good

Yeah check m+ / raid guide then
Here, thats what im talking about, if you want to play high dps you are sometimes forced to play 3 button spam class like frost mage for example is  , you play it wrong btw
and in pvp its about to manage to switch targets instead of macroing it automatically, additional keybinds on macros in pvp situations are cost of being not skilled

I asked him about his pve rotation and pvp uses MANY optional skills, many of them have huge cd and arent PART OF COMBAT ROTATION

its exactly the same right now, you wrote down core abilities that were always in game, not in mop, in mop fire mage just had additional that WERENT SIMILAR TO DESTRO so your whole point is just dumb in this post

class design will kill this game, mark my words, players already running away to FFXIV for better class design and where game creators don’t treat their players like they are were physically or mentally handicaped

It really is its weakest point right now. Class design was the #1 reason I always came back to wow. It was great until WoD came along.

They need to do more to make classes interesting and fun to play again.

With professions, loot and so forth getting closer to their roots, so should classes. Give us an interesting fun to play rpg again.

I don’t necessarily need more abilities but more of what makes them feel good to use.
As frost mage every ability feels like its only purpose is to build up stacks for Glacial Spike or shortens the CD of Frozen Orb. Frostbolt hits like a wet noodle, Ice lance doesn’t really feel good to use unless you play with a lot of Azerite traits and I couldn’t even tell if Blizzard does any dmg.
In most situations GS and the orb deal half of my dmg or more and then there’s 10 other things doing minimal dmg.
The same goes for retri pala, boomkin, or destru lock to name a few: use a bunch of weak abilities so that you can use the strong spender that deals up to half of your dmg.
That’s why I like BM hunter for example: just a few abilities, but every ability has its place:
-Cobra Shot resets CD of Kill Command and prevents overcapping focus
-Barbed shot gives you focus, attack speed for pet, a bit of AoE burst with talent and shortens CD of Bestial Wrath
-Multi Shot gives your pet a short buff to cleave
-Kill command does good dmg and is your main ability to spend focus.

Combat rogue didn’t have more abilities in his rotation in MoP than now, but the rotating dmg buff from Bandit’s Guile (one single passive) made the spec so much more fun, because it gave you some choice (atleast I feel this way).

i mean some classes like outlaw rogue now feels good, even if it has only 5 skills in rotation it has cool mechanics, but major part of classes in wow are just press 3 buttons on cd
