Why so toxic against boosted chars?

People can do whatever they want with their money and shouldn’t be “harassed” for their decisions. Disciriminating people who decide to get a boost or deluxe edition is the most childish thing a player can do in this game.

You guys act like Blizzard is going to remove the boost if just few people (or none at all) buy it. They aren’t gonna do that. The boost will remain in the shop forever, because even though only 0.5% of the playerbase decides to give 35 euro for a boosted char, Blizzard will always earn money.
Sorry, If I told you this hard truth.

can’t wait to go in a dungeon with some random AH equipment only to say at the end of a dungeon:
“Oh btw I’m boosted”

Rep is shared between chars in retail. That sounds exactly like rep boost to me.

Where are you living?
Rep is shared? That is something we always wanted but never received.

Only thing is rep is account based for achievements.
On a new toon you still have to grind rep.

Nothing of what you said is hard truth. Everyone knows what you said, you just thought you’d chime in with a blatantly obvious and arrogant post to feel like you’re above it all and other people are dumb or stupid, or however you describe those people in your head.

People can do what they want with their money, people can also criticise others if they want if it contributes to something that diminishes their experience. No one is acting like they’re going to remove it, characters are already boosted. I don’t care about the boost since it’s a one off, but I for sure respect those who aren’t happy about it. I 100% am not going to be arrogant enough to post something like you did.

You should be grateful that the players care about the game enough to /spit on you. That is, after all, why you came to Classic in the first place - because you got tired of how dead retail is, saw that Classic has an active and energetic community and decided you wanted to experience that. Your desire to consume the fruits of that passionate community is why you are here, but it is that same passion which leads players to /spit on you, because they recognize that your presence in Classic cheapens the game, with your level boosted characters and cash shop mounts and entitled attitude. You should be thanking players when they /spit on you and apologizing for offending them, that way you will minimize the degradation to the community caused by your actions and keep the game healthy in the long-term.

But life isn’t like that now, you can’t just close your browser, you can’t just change TV channel, you can’t just not watch it, or the modern classic of “I’m being bullied on the internet, I need help, I’m sad, I can’t just not go on those platforms, make a law to stop this horrible toxicity”. You got to complain about it and advocate for safe spaces where everyone just blindly praises everyone and everything no matter what.

History will just repeat itself, it always does and always will. Except this time I think the game will be “ruined” about 2 expansions earlier than in the past.

it doesn’t matter how many times your favorite streamer says this, it doesn’t make it true.

if you didn’t have access to twitter/youtube/twitch/forums reactionaries you wouldn’t care about this, just like you didn’t care about the litany of pay mounts back in 2007.

you are letting reactionaries warp your enjoyment of things. it’s not good.

Because one is a harmless in-game emote - maybe I should have complained in 2005-6 about rogues corpse camping and doing /spit spam? But I was never that sad or childish to do so. The other is a paid service by a company trying to make money off their side project that is supposed to be about experiencing the game as it was, a Classic experience, which didn’t have large mounts, large HS animations, and boosted characters.

I suspect from your wording the sort of person you are, selfish one-track logic likely runs your life, everyone is totally wrong if it doesn’t fit your thinking. That is my elaboration, not to be re-elaborated upon.

boosting has always existed as have bots and gold buying.
store mounts were added back in 2007 as TCG

If you weren’t so stereotypically presumptuous and made comments based on what you think, I could have told you I watch no streamer, nor take part in any social media platform. Don’t worry, you likely believe whatever you want about people and you sound like you’re the one who does everything you said since you seem very knowledgeable on the terms.

this is literally a social media platform.

you’re talking on it, right now.

you are engaging in the exact same cycle of “wow dead blizzbad” rhetoric that has been happening for 16 years and has now been amplified by a community so toxic and delusional they can’t separate fact from fiction.

i love you how think you’re immune to these external forces as you regurgitate their talking points.

Funny that comes from you, trolling here nonstop for hours.

This is not “literally a social media platform”, and nothing from what I said is “wow dead blizzbad” rhetoric. Sounds like you’re just eager to throw that at anyone.

Look further up this thread to see a link someone posted to what toxic actually is, as I get the sense you’re one of these ones eager to throw that around too. I’ve seen nothing toxic in these forums other than people complaining about changes made to the game, which they have a right to do.

LMAO

Literally living in an alternate reality.

Some people just use the word toxic for things that are actually toxic. Others just use it when someone is disagreeing with someone’s opinion or calls them a bad word. It’s not possible to be toxic on the forums with the censors in place.

I’m putting my cards on the table that you’re a social media baby, deviated from the Twitter lifestyle to visit the WoW Classic forums.

Perhabs it comes as a shock to you, but disagreeing with someone and having a different opinion isn’t trolling.

Don’t even reply to him, likely a basement dweller who hasn’t seen daylight in about 10 months.
