Why so toxic against boosted chars?

I get so many spits on me, I don’t understand why, Blizzard offer boost and I used it?

Same in retail but then I never get spat on.

It feels a little toxic and I get discouraged from playing the game.

Open up the chat settings and remove the tick from emotes.

They can /spit all they want and you won’t see it.

Thanks for the advice.

Still feel a little sad about the amount of people who wants to spit on me.

Really depends on the server I think. I’m on PV and I rarely see any toxicity, and I’m lvling my boosted pala. Even people who ride on the deluxe mount are left alone.

Also remember this is a very small minority who is trying their best to be toxic and ruin it for others. The kind of person that if the boost/mount wouldn’t be in the game they would look for something else to use or to look down on others.

Like dottie says, if it bothers you just turn off the emotes.

Or maybe tons of people are upset with the fact they added a paid level boost and store mount to a re-creation of a game that didn’t used to have it. I mean it’s still toxic to take your frustration out on the people that take advantage of the service, but yeah. And anyway like above posters says, it also varies from server to server. PvP servers always have more toxic people, especially the big ones.

The word toxic is massively overused and mostly incorrectly used in place “anything that offends or triggers someone to react” nowadays.

Good! That’s the intention behind doing it. A lot of people don’t want to play with boosted characters.

just out of curiousity OP what server are you playing on?
most of the full pop servers are incredibly toxic in general

just throw those poor souls a /hug they dont know any better.

On Mirage Raceway noone is spitting on ppl…most of the time. I got spit once when I used new HS, but other than that is quite cool. I hug everyone on mount

/spit on people is not toxic! Where do you people come from to think that it’s toxic?

Extreme racist or cancer jokes in poor taste is toxic. Nothing from what you said matches anything of the sort. Toxic = Extreme. Someone saying you’re bad at the game, or a crap tank/healer, or saying anything similar is not toxic. Get it into your thick skulls.

Exactly, glad to know there are some sensible users on this forum.

None of that is toxic, where did you learn what toxic meant?

players have been using the spitting emote for 15 years so why is everyone now getting upset about the emote

everyone knows full well they will get negative reactions from and they use the boost anyway

there are discord groups dedicated to farming boosted characters

i havent used the emote on anyone and i wont because i dont pay attention to these boosters
and for whatever reason someone /spits on me guess what…go ahead, its an emote im not going to cry about it

there are far more worrying things in this world than someone using an emote on you in a game

Exactly, just easily offended millennial culture, always comes across as so pathetic when ones complain about it. That term “suck it up” or “man up” - probably now outdated terms to those people - comes to mind. God forbid someone doesn’t like what you do, I honestly wonder how these people survive in the real world, although they may literally never leave the house.

The police must be absolutely demented with people reporting silly stuff.

I heard there is weakauras automatically making you spit on boosted chars / chars with deluxe mount maybe they just use that else I feel like they would rather whisper you their frustration.
