Why solo killed Castle Nathria boss doesn't guarantee loot drop?

We all know about what man we are talking here, no need to name him.
He spent 2.5 hours on soloing Shriekwing, result - 75g loot. Is this a joke Blizzard? :slight_smile:

says a lot about the drop chances in this game if a solo player kills a raid boss and doesnt get a drop …

tells me the loot system is completely unrelated to the player or previous runs or % chance of the player at all…

instead it shows it is just a blanket % which stays exactly the same for everyone no matter the circumstances…

pretty lazy coding if you ask me lol.

4 per 20, so 20% drop chance.

Not like master loot would have guaranteed anything he could use.

No, but the way loot works right now is so that each player has their own drop chance to get items for their spec. You can’t loot off-spec items from a boss, unless Legacy loot is enabled (in that setting, solo players get the loot that would normally drop in the entire raid).

Let’s say a plate player soloes Shriekwing and the game rolls only cloth and leather as dropped loot. The plate cannot loot anything of those, because of personal loot. With master looter, the boss drops a specific number of items. It doesn’t drop them for you or for whoever, it just drops them for the entire raid. So with master looter, soloing a boss will give you 2-3 items.

PS: Legacy loot was added exactly because the removal of master loot broke farming old content.

Because it’s from the current expansion so it doesn’t have legacy loot yet.

Seeing how blizzard themselves have stated 4 items for 20 players, then i guess the game makes a roll, first to determine the winners of the loot, then another roll to determine the actual loot.

So with 1 player the raid difficulty is put to 10 man, and thus it’s rolled for 10 players even if they aren’t present.

That is until legacy kicks in 2 expansions later.
