Why still counter eclipsing?

Why do we still have to start with 2x “aoe” ability to enter single target eclipse and why do we have to start with a “single target” ability to enter aoe eclipse ? it’s a terrible and really weird design choice that has been in there for years now… seems like a good time to drop it with the new rework, yet you chose not to… perhaps anyone can explain ? it feels really counterintuitive ?

Or is there something i’m missing here so that it makes perfect sense?

It is this way to add a complexity. Many classes has some mechanic just to prevent rotations with too little buttons.

What surprises me the most is that obviously, most people like this mechanic. To me it’s a major design flaw and definately a reason not to play the class.
