Why SV hunter is at the bottom of the food chain?

Its not even about hating the spec, I’ve tried it and it just doesn’t feel like it should be melee to me as most of the abilities are ranged other than a very small amount.

Imo they should have either made BM the melee spec or just created a 4th one for melee, preferably the latter to please everyone with the class.

The thing that baffles me the most is the fact that SV is so pet dependent, almost like BM is and I don’t get it why is that! The moment my pet dies I’m doomed, despite the fact I’m a melee dps not a pet spec! I would like to see a penalty of my output dps if my pet dies, but not crippled entirely like it is right now.

I really liked what GW2 did with their ranger class where the soulbeast can literally fuse with their pet to gain extra abilities and stats based on the pet they fuse with. Maybe it would be something that could work for survival.

I wish my pet will inherit my stats, or at least my versatility in order to stay alive anywhere near a cleave…

So dont play it. I have fun with it, my main is SV, i dropped Spriest. Because SV is so much fun.
Last time i checked i was paying wow, as a game, for having fun

There is a very simple fix to this.

Replace KC with Flanking Strike.
Reduce FS CD to current KC levels.
Make FS cauae both you and your pet to attempt a strike.
Your strike deals about 85 percent of current KC dmg. Your pets deals about 40 percent of current KC dmg.
When your strike hits, you gain 10 focus, when your pets hits, gain 5 focus.

Thus if your pet is up, you function, if not, you function, but less optimal.

Also make FS grant a unique buff if your pet is dead, which causes your RS/MB to grant stacking buff of reduced cast and focus on revive pet, stacking 4 times with a 80% reduction at max stacks.

Sorry if I sound like moaning, but I already stated that I like the spec alot and it’s the only reason I still play this game. Just I wish they would make some adjustments to some issues I’ve mentioned before.

SV needs to go back to Cata design . Back then it was super fun spec to play .

nobody wants melee in any groups - thats why making SV melee spec was always a mistake

I don’t want to be meta, I only want to be able to be on par with the rest, but not the absolute glass canon that have no canon…

How about they convert one of the mage specs to melee, or Warlock?

I did play a Survival Hunter thinking it was a good idea, but after playing it for quite a while I saw that it wasn’t.

No. Why would you bring back that super boring SV from Cata, when you have this great melee spec from now, that only requires a bit of fine tuning? I’ve said before and I will repeat it again, the moment they revert the SV to a ranged spec I quit playing this game.

I think that is fine you do you, play what you enjoy and not worry about the meta list.

I am pretty sure you can still do good dps numbers if you are a master at survival get that 95% parse.

I could live with the curent dps of SV hunters but not when paired with such lame defense and heals, etc…

I never played hunter before so not sure, but I think all specs should have some form of defensive cooldowns. With melee usually having something extra compared to their range counterpart. Most melee I think have 2 defensive cooldowns, I only played feral and monk so from these 2 they both got 2 defensive cooldowns. One very long 3 minute cooldown and the other short like 1-1.5 min.

Survival just doesn’t cater to anyone really, while pissing off a lot of people.

Those who liked ranged survival obviously didn’t like the change, while people who want the dual wielding hunter are stuck with only polearms (or agility staves lol).

They should have made BM melee, maybe with something like aspect of the hawk to let them be ranged, while leaving SV mostly as it was before.

They could have tried some sort of mid-range design. 15yd ranged abillities or something

Personally I don’t care if they gave them a weapon throw passive where with melee weapon their attack is ranged, I would have liked to have something like Rexxar or like troll axe throwers.

I like the idea of tanking with a pet. In fact I like any ideas that bring something new as long it feels cool and it’s fun to play.
