Why Sylvanas didn't kill Malfurion?

She had chance kill and hit alliance straight to heart by killing him. Instead she left that to saurfang even she sure must know that Saurfang not do it or would she have really walked away and miss chance to see Malfurion die If she wanted him dead

You are about 2 years too late.

Because that would had increased the expectation of Tyrande actually killing Slvanas during 9.1 by a lot. And given that Blizzard did not wanted to go this way at all…

Tyrande wanted kill Sylvanas because she burned Darnassus and that was not happened when Sylvanas fight against Malfurion. Sylvanas have always wanted war and now she was in it allready conquered darkshore and ready to take Darnassus. She was at full war with alliance and she walked away instead of killing one of greatest alliance hero not make sence beside she must know that tyranda is close since those two lovebirds are always together

Because the writers are afraid to write sylvanas in her full power because alliance players whine about everything. Malfurion should’ve burnt with that tree.

Or why Tyrande didn’t kill Saurfang If she just suddenly appeared to place and see Malfurion near death in ground and Saurfang with bloody axe next to him.

Its funny, when writers are afraid to write alliance in their full powers (They dont even used Vindicar during the war) because horde players whine about everything. Horde should be a bounch of ash.

Because killing one of the most important Warcraft characters in a quest is never a good idea.

Honestly I’m just happy she didn’t. While her welcome is long overstayed, I could at least imagine a world in which Malfurion plays an interesting part in the story.

In my personal head canon it’s because not even Sylvanas is dumb enough to kill Malfurion knowing who’ll eventually be coming for her if she did. She got Saurfang to do her dirty work instead.

Because Sylvanas didn’t want a decisive victory? She wanted a bloody war with maximum casualties. A timely reminder that “the Horde is nothing” (her words).

Not make sence. Sylvanas knew in that point that whole alliance is coming against her because she attacked darkshore, Saurfang comment after tree was burned is misleading whole alliance was coming anyway so why Sylvanas didn’t kill Malfurion she finaly got her war with alliance why she would suddenly pass chance kill one of their hero and leave Job to saurfang who was at his knees.

And tyranda just appear to place after Sylvanas left and see her love lying in ground and she just start talk to saurfang and everything in darkshore is destroyed around them. Not in million years, she would have killed Saurfang right there and then started check Malfurion.

And how Nathanos is bad? He was just general who did in war what he was asked to do. He didn’t give order to burn Darnassus or attack to dark shore. He didn’t try escape after war just went to his home instead of chance escape to maw.with Sylvanas.

I’d say it’s because writers wanted to have Sylvanas redeemed at some point, and if they had her kill Malfurion there was no going back. Because somehow you can decimate almost an entire race as long as they’re a bunch of nobodies but certainly not hurt a racial leader/important character, that would very wrong (that’s exactly what happened Horde side with Baine and Derek Proudmoore, the genocide thing put aside).

I like Sylvanas a lot so I’m not complaining but that’s obviously very bad writing either way.

Vindicaar. Kek. You must not be serious.

True! He, the Conqueror of Darnassus! The one, who single handedly slew the Demon lord Archimonde and his minions!
Must die to a puny little black arrow… conjured by a dead She-Elf, of a vendetta that she’s unsure of…

Truly! What A Marvelous Insight!

It was war and Malfurion was enemy, why she not kill him? She was allready so deep in totall war that there was no turning back anymore whole alliance was coming at her anyway so why spare Malfurion when she knew that alliance going to come kill her. Burning tree was not likely her original plan she burned it because anger and hate against Arthas take control. but like sayed Malfurion is alliance legend why not kill him, it was war so that black arrow killing Malfurion would have been perfect fit

When I said “no going back” I meant from the writing perspective, and well it seems what she did wasn’t bad enough because right now writers are indeed trying to redeem her.

I don’t disagree with you, of course this Malfurion thing doesn’t make much sense otherwise. But to be honest the way they handled Sylvanas in BFA doesn’t make much sense at all.

Why did Tirion waited the full fight vs the Lich King before he used his trinket and 1 shot Frostmourne ?

How come Jaina escapes every time she is close to death by casting mass teleport while in combat and not being intterupted ?

How do opposing faction leaders talk to one another but we never see them drinking elixir of tongues ?

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Atleast frostmourne pieces are put together so its alive and kicking cursed blade

Well Jaina is still at that happy stage with Thrall so she aint pissed enough yet to kill anyone but quite sure after that trip together to mäw and shadowlands with Thrall she finaly flip over and wanna kill everyone instead recall off

Been wondering same, why we players cant do it since faction leaders are all over it doing that alltime. Sucks but what we can do?
