Why the curse of flesh isn't a curse

  • Listen to the Earthen talk.
  • a part of them literally had to obey the titans without free will
  • It won’t get dispelled, if you decurse a player
  • Maybe the name is Titan-propaganda and the void helps us? After all, we only know about it from ancient titan data it seems.

That’s how it has seemed to me that it never was a curse but it is against everything what Titans want they want full control and fleshy life itself is chaotic.

Yes, it’s a necessary evil to achieve balance, ying and yang. If the void wasn’t there, everyone would be completely ordered soulless robots, who only execute commands. I think the curse of flesh is what gave the titanforged free will. I love how the lore-writers work with allegories and their own made-up symbols so much. It’s also nice how subtle the game is with explaining this, because they don’t actually spell it out. It’s kind of an obvious, but also unexpected, interpretation that you’re led to as a player over time.

Humans became evil and genocided all the trolls after becoming flesh.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but they haven’t mentioned this curse thing in a long time, haven’t they?

Well, it’s the reason why the Earthen split up in the lore initially. It’s why “The unbound” are a thing. Without the curse of flesh, I don’t think they’d have the capacity to disobey the titans.

Seems like conjecture to me. Logical, but still a conjecture. I mean have they mentioned the curse of flesh specifically recently?
Can’t remember an instance, that’s why I have an impression blizz are distancing themselves from this narrative.

The curse of flesh is only specifically mentionned in titan artifacts, data, discs, etc. It shouldn’t be mentionned in text, that wasn’t written by the titans. The reason is that this word “curse of flesh” is from the titan’s perspective. From our perspective the curse of flesh appears to be something very positive. In this sense, you’re right, though there is no other word for the curse of flesh as of now.

Iconic that came from you, who defend genicidal behavior of orcs or undead.
The humans arnt genocidal or evil.
In reality ist most of the Horde, so bevor you blame the humans, put yourselt at nose

You are lying to yourself if you think all humans are pure and good. there is plenty monsters in there too, it really isnt the race anyway that defines an charachter it is what they do and what they choose.

As ive always seen the curse of flesh situation that it brings emotions in play both good and bad. And most of issues in wow have come from hate, humans themselves have been hatefull beings from the start and it goes around always. But its still better than being completly emotionless robot wich is the true goal of titans

Denial is a river in egypt.

yes,for example garrithos or the scarlett crusade but here is the thing, evien blame humans for genocial which ist true, it was no oevrall thinsg, just few example while on the otehr side purposly irgnore the orsc who genocides the dranei on outland and draneoir and later tryed humans in eastern kindom.
Thts the big hyprocasy of erevien and horde palyers who piurposly ignoe such fact but “mimimi allaince!!!”

not true and yeah, if so, why coudn that bee…probly not because of the orcs who invaed azeroth, slauther, murder and r@pe through the eastern kindgom.

But hey, victim blaming is nothing new by horde Standards.

Hypocrisy goes both ways. That original horde has nothing to do with this new one and its not the same orcs even. just like the old alliance isnt the same as this new alliance.

But fine keep believing that humans are the light’s chosen race to exterminate all races they seem like monsters

humans suck, orcs are cool. Stay mad and cope.

Wow would be better, if they put more narrative focus on non-humans. This also avoids all these minefields, that trigger people from various spectra

I’ve heard so many recently talk about the “Anti Titan Propaganda” and how it feels sudden, rushed and unpolished. A lot of the complaints I started to hear came from Dragonflight (obviously) - where people began to lament the loss of the old days.

But let’s just think about it for a moment. ‘Back in the day’ wasn’t grand and good either. Back then the Anti-Titan Propaganda was, sure, diminished and somewhat hidden. We focused more on how great they were.

However, leeeeet’s just take a tiny look over yonder towards Un’Goro that was literally a melting pot of Titan experiments. With little to no care what the inhabitants were doing to one another. We saw more of the Titan shenanigans in Wrath of course, especially in the Storm Peaks and how easy it was to turn the ‘grand’ image.

More? More again showcased in places such as Battle for Azeroth with G’huun and how that whole show turned belly up. I particularly enjoyed the alternate timeline from Dragonflight with the Titan Utopia where Order ran rampant. That didn’t go well.

My point is simply: Titans have been doing some wacky shenanigans since the beginning of the game, and they’re definitely not as good as many want them to be.

Titan fanboys in shambles. I am sure their villain era starts in Last Titan.

Is that when you go join the tentacle monsters?

I don’t get what’s the deal with the hate on the titans other than the previous writing team’s daddy issues, I suppose.

Titans were always uncaring gods. Their goals were loosely alligned with ours, since a priority of them was to get rid of aggressive and dark forces like demons and the void, but we have known at least since Wrath that they had no compunctions about just killing everyone and eveyything, if that was the easiest way to stop corruption. They also Have always been shown to know no moral limits when it comes to research, and they’ll butt in wherever they want and do whatever damage they want in the name of their goals. So yeah, we didn’t need “anti-titan propaganda” to get us to find reasons to oppose them.

I do feel the tone has shifted some, though. The Titans’ brand of evil was their lack of care for us, but recently they have pushed more and more of Odin’s politics that are more dishonest and manipulative. Might just be me, but it doesn’t exactly feel on brand to me. All that propaganda and information control suggests that they care what we mortals think. That we are more than curiosities to be observed or brushed aside as needed. We already have manipulative villainous forces aplenty. A straighforward “force of nature” type that can be predicted and worked around is rarer.
