Hi, I am just wondering, why do so many at the moment seem to be very outspoken about disliking Fury Warriors. What is going on?
I am just the casual Fury Warrior doing my own keys, chillin’ and trying to have a good time in M+. The key starts, I do my part, at the end of the key I do a little summary and try to justify my participation.
I do understand that Fury is unpopular because of the percieved notion that we don’t bring any value, or even worse, seen as being a detriment for the group. Mainly because our damage profile is not focused on AoE mass cleave, but priority damage. Even so, it seems weird to me that people are outright hostile about this. Calling me ‘useless’, ‘waste of air’, ‘quit the game you ****’ and so the list goes; for no crime other than being lower on the overall.
Even if I do justify my lower overall towards the fact that I do about a quarter to double DPS on bosses and lieutenants. It seems like the community has started to sour against my chosen warrior spec.
Is there really no value to me killing bosses faster, so the key ends quicker, even if this means my overall DPS is lower?
Is there not even value in me bringing up others overall by making their weaker DPS periods as short as possible?
I am honestly interested to hear your opinion of this. Of why, and that is an if, you go out of your way to make sure that I am aware that my AoE damage is bad.
I am very aware that my overall DPS is comparably low to others. Is it really necessary to whisper me before the key, or midkey stop after a mass AoE pull and call my DPS ‘garbage tier’. At least I can understand the anger or frustration after a failed key, but even if it is timed… I still get comments about how I would be better off not being there at all.
This season is a rough one for myself and likely other Fury Warriors in a PuG environment. Understandably we are not a popular choice, as our lack of an overall DPS impact is crystal clear; and our strength is only tolerated as ‘a thing’ in premades. I will even concede to the point of our strenght being very theoretical. At what point does killing bosses faster really help the key being completed faster? Does shaving 1 minute off a bossfight or 15 seconds of a lieutenant, make up for the unknown loss of time to AoE DPS? I have no idea if I saved the team time, or if I wasted it.
This is why I can understand why shade is being thrown my way.
I just dont get why though, the need to go out of the way to make sure that I am aware that I am unwanted. The push to making me feel bad about being there, even if I am using my own keystone and I set the run up. That even when the team succeeds, no matter the timer, I must be made aware that my performance was a huge problem.
I ask,
Why?
