Given that the horde always needed more resources and living space.
Why did they never just conquered everything on kalimdor not belonging to the night elves.
I mean there are many zones with tons of resource’s, space and without strong enemies to conquer.
Those resources could be used to build up the horde forces if they still wanted to go after the alliance.
So why go and attack ashenvale if you had so many other lands you could conquer with less effort?
…which zones that aren’t claimed by the Night Elves? 1000 needles? Mostly Horde, mostly dead. Feralas? Half Horde, half Night Elf. Stonetalon? Half Horde, half Night Elf. Tanaris? Dead. Un’goro? Everything there is deadly. Silithus? Was dead, is now superdead. Uldum? Dead. Duskwallow Marsh? Mostly Horde now, no farmable land.

We did go more south but first we had to level up.
Pretty much every land green in Kalimdor, belongs to the Night Elves(Darkshore, Hyjal, Ashenvale, teldrassil pre burning, Feralas).
Desolace is dead. Also lots of demons and hostile centaurs.
Barrens and Durotar are a savannah and dry. No crop farms. Just pigs and pork. I fully blame Thrall here. Without imports Orcs would starve to death.
Azshara now populated by goblins. Doesen’t look like farming lands. And Naga attacking kept is busy.
Theramore hasn’t had any own food production apart from fishing and had to rely on imports from fellow alliance nations.
Un’goro is so deadly, nobody ever settled there. Dinosaurs and oil elemental stuff. Very crazy. Not to mention the active volcano.
Felwood. Nuff said. Doubt it will ever heal.
Silithus is super dead. Silthids trying to kill you. Not a single water source. Just murderous bugs.
Uldum. Water source controlled by the tolvir. Already populated. Rest is a desert.
Tanaris. Dead and desert. Port is property of the goblins. Doubt anything goes good beyond trade alone.
Thousand needles. Flooded by saltwater
I have no clue how the Grimmtotem survive here.
Which all in all brings us back to the original problem. Warsong Orcs going straight for those green places cuz food, water and lumber.

Yeahh southern barrens is cut by vocalnic line after Cata , Thousand needles is flooded and Ofc there is Silithus as well…
But when our Goblins were minding their business in Silithus Alliance SI:7 started murdering them…
So there’s why we attacked Ashenvale

Ugh, I so agree with this.
Tauren druids being linked to the Night Elves and even worse, to Malfurion galls me severly, it’s like we Always have to be ‘second rate’ druids to the Night Elves, even though I think races like Tauren, and even Troll, make far more natural Druids as opposed to a race that used to live in a huge magically empowered empire and being responible for one of the biggest calamities to ever shake Azeroth and her natural world.
Just my opinion obviously, not ment to diss the Night Elves on themselves, they were cool(Untill Night Elf mages became a thing, at that point, the Wild Gods should’ve just thought to themselves…hold up…We’ve seen this before…)
There’s a reason they were the strongest tribe, they are the Bear Grylls of the Tauren world.
