No worries, but to be brutally honest I’ve had the same opinion of “Allied races” as I had the first time I saw them.
They should have been customizations for existing races but instead were a cheap gimmick to get people to either splurge cash on the race transfer or to buy BfA.
I recall having this discussion with you before and I became rude and antagonistic for which I apologise.
The Horde? Mein Geck, there is no thing such as Horde when the Sethrak joins. Either it is the playable all-race villain faction, or the merged Alliance/Horde faction.
Arent the dragon abominations enough for some time? Part of the reasons I used to pick wow over other mmorpgs was that wow characters looked like actual human figures. Nowadays the only thing wow is missing are cat girls. Every other weird type of class representation is there already and Im afraid what will this woke NA mob come up with next.
Thanks Soul, I was so fried chasing some levels to capitalise on the 50% winds buff. It stated it ended at 23:59 but I forgot it’s EU time
Back on track, I see that you are part of that camp. Regarding Allied races being customisations.
I can see why people think like that to be honest and in some ways I do agree? The only issue is you lose flavour of the race by not having their own racials, mount , Heritage armour etc. I love all those little spice sprinklings from the allied races.
However, to go a bit deeper, I’d really love to see a whole revamped character selection screen. Where the two become merged? So what I mean by this is they seem like a customisation option, to get rid of clutter but it automatically changes and updates the racials etc. I’m sure there are other games that do this
Like if we take ‘elf’ as the race, a submenu appears with all the available elf variants
Etc etc etc
Thanks for the apology, Incredibly rare to witness on these forums. I thoroughly enjoy reading many of your posts and agree with a lot of them also. I sincerely am sorry If I was a bit firm or hard towards you in the venthyr thread. You probably copped a bit of unfair frustration from me that had been accumulated from various posters.
“Should” and “Would” are 2 different arguments so I’ll say straight up that I don’t ever see it actually happening.
There’s a handful of reasons they should have joined the Horde though:
The Alliance attacked Vol’dun, including the Vulpera settlements, to whom the Sethrak are allied with.
The Sethrak allowed the Alliance to park in their backyard in the early stages of the war, but this was before the Horde ended the Faithless and the Sethrak allied with the Vulpera, who are Horde.
Sethraliss attended Talanji’s corronation, and there are various Sethrak NPCs populating Zuldazar, a Horde city.
The Sethrak are sharing Horde territory and the Troll pantheon (This isn’t a strong argument though, as the Night Elves and Tauren have a similar relationship)
It really should have been them instead of Vulpera back in 8.3, since the Sethrak are actually suited to war and have reason to distrust the Alliance. They have a strong leader, a religous identity and would have been the most unique race in the game by far.
Without more story exposition and a reason to re-introduce Sethrak, this will never happen. We pretty much missed our chance in BFA for it to make sense
Allot of people want Sethrak. Not so sure the ‘‘We’’ your talking about would support your thread just to make a 92347129847billionth thread. On how much people hate Vulpera though.
Try something new. Instead of attacking the easiest target. Weakling.
