Why there is no mythic gear in delves?

I knew this issue would arise, hence my comment about it a few weeks ago:

Yeah I think blizzard leaving it at heroic was the right thing to do for this reason. I don’t need more gear / content to be about me. I’ll rush the last boss as fast as I can cuz it’ll be a fun challenge to see how little gear I need for it, but these should be designed primarily for people who don’t do group content already.

Also, if the content is fun, we do it anyway, right? Right?

The latest tiers offer a challenge if someone thinks themselves up to the task. Leave high-end gear out of it please.

You say that but I could probably count on one hand the number of people who have gone back into the mage tower on X spec after already beating it.

The only problem is that the vault offers three slots of completely RNG gear, and with each week, your chance of getting the gear you actually want decreases since you will already own some of it. For mythic raiders, it’s the opposite: if you didn’t get the trinket or gear, then someone else in your guild did, and they most likely won’t roll on it again. This means your chances of getting your desired gear are much higher. Don’t act like the vault being available only once per week is an acceptable option.

Also, raid historically has better trinkets, weapons, rings.

Didn’t say it was, if anything I implied the opposite in the half of the post you didn’t quote…

Yes, that is the case indeed. But an exception proves the rule.

Delves have no score push, no potential title, no details minigame. Really the top gear rewards should stay as it is.

edit: wrong about the title

It’s really fun that people who have good guilds and can raid will have a huge advantage over you in other game pillar that has score and ilvl matters

It is fun to have reasonable progression as well

Generally agree. I expect I’ll enjoy them early on then drop doing them after a couple weeks, meanwhile others who dont do higher content will progress at their own pace.

My only real concern is that for many people, this will be their first exposure to content that is not designed with success being the only expected outcome. And I wonder how many will rise to that challenge / accept their limitations Vs demand it be brought to their level.

I think we should solve this between M+ crowd and mythic raiders and leave the initial intended main audience of delves out of it.

I say initial because I already have a feeling Blizz will cave in to the pressure and delves will become a competitive endgame pillar with a score system.

Everything “just fun and chill” gets hijacked.

I don’t think they will, from the circles I’m in and the players I’ve talked to they don’t even want to do delves as is, let alone do them for gear they actually want.

There’s no pressure from high end players to make them competitive. If anything the pressure comes from sentiments like the OPs that it should be awarding bis gear so they can get bis gear without comparable difficulty or investment.

They should though, it is fun, you can nevermind it if you dont like. You don’t have to use rewards either, just delete those items

Yeah I thought of pre-emptively answering that point of view in my last post. The hijackers always say something similar, a la you can just unequip your gear or take res sickness if you dont want to kill mobs so fast…

This attitude misunderstands how the way the delves are designed would change drastically if they became part of endgame.

Just like dungeons are now all designed with M+ in mind.

Pass.

WoW isn’t really that kind of game. There isn’t much Blizzard can do to make it massively difficult for a single player, compared to say a Team Ninja game where the bosses just spam cheap one shots that happen faster than the input lag.

It was meant to be content for open world players, ie casuals. Not to add another tier of high end game gearing.

Generally I’d agree. The amount of work required to make bespoke challenges for every spec of equal difficulty would be insane. Not to mention then keeping them difficult for groups.

They didn’t even manage it with the mage tower, some of those fell over.

I would love this, I like to push myself and see what I can do but the toxic ppl in pugs just make me not want to do them. and with ppl being carried and buying achievements Delves would be the real test, at least for me.

I doubt it is that much of work, additionally, could add an extra talents similar to PvP. Blizzard has no problem making mage viable to all kind of content at all times basically

For me: No.
There has to be some sort of incentive.

Yeah the second “right” was meant to highlight my sarcasm
