PVP
After playing hours of Solo pvp, 3v3 it is quite simple to see what is wrong with MW.
The healing output is very strong, you can heal even the strongest DPS comps as long as you don’t get a random 3 sec instant CC or interrupt. If you get anything that stops you channeling Soothing mists, you have 0 heal. Renewing mists is absolutely trash, in 415 it only heals 2500-3000 / tick which is ~1% HP.
I am not saying that MW monk should be a resto druid with powerful HOTs but it definetely requires some sort of healing, either renewing mists should be stronger or some kind of absorb or Jade serpent statue should heal more during CC.
The other problem is CC. Song is ChiJi is a joke. What is the moving speed of that cloud? 5 yard / 5 sec? You have to go meele in order to use it, you have to combo it with either stun or incap. It is basically the same type of CC that evoker has but for Evoker it is ranged and castable while moving. This requires a redesign in my opinion.
Mythic+
Fistweaving build is the only viable option and even with that, MW is the most unplayed healer in Mythic plus. I think the problem with Fistweaving build is that you have to be in meele, in 10+ keys there are so many spells in meele range that oneshot you, it is very risky. Why should somebody invite an MW monk over an Evoker or Resto druid to the group? Risky to heal, it brings no CR or BloodLust, cannot purge magic or enrage, cannot buff other players to do more dmg.
This is not a unique season for MW monks, this seems to be the standard for years now in both pvp and pve (mythic+) for monks (not sure about raids as I don’t do that). For me it is obvious that whoever is designing this class, he don’t really care about it.
