Why Demo’s aoe got nerfed by almost %5 while it was no where near fire mage which didn’t get a single nerf ? Since the raid encounters are not good for demo on this tier it was its aoe making the spec playable at least in m+ and now it got nerfed as well.
We didn’t get any QOL changes we have been asking for this patch which was already dissapointing, and now with this unwarranted nerf you are really runining the fun for warlocks.
I would recommend watching Kalamazi’s video on it.
Its actually a good change as it makes us less reliant on the tier set, so next week demo wont be garbage and will infact do some damage on m+.
Before these changes the tier set was a 14% upgrade, now it more around like 8-6%, and is more inline with what other classes get.
Demos aoe is still good and its ST is even better thanks to the buffs to imps and doom guard’s doom bolts, GGS was also buffed by alot which is a ST talent. Our aoe is better also thanks to that fat 20% on HOG too.
These changes simply made warlock more inline of what other classes will have both in aoe and st, we still arent top cough warrior cough but we arent bottom either.
Fyi our ST was around 2,35 mil before this and now is more around 2,4-2,5 mil.
And I would recommend you watching Kalamazi’s video again, getting like %2 buff on ST and %5 nerf on aoe while behind the other classes is not a gain. %20 Hog buff won’t compansate for tier set nerf. Also 4p tier dps gain is down to %15 from %23, not %6-8.
As I mentioned before, Demo’s single target won’t be that usefull this tier since there is almost no pure ST bosses in raid so we will be playing the other specs. I am not whining about the ST or tuning down the tier set power, It is about getting nerfed while there are some other classes performing better.
It was a good change. And the the reason is becouse in ptr the bonus was so good demonlogy did too much damage spamming 1 point hog with dogs, do you wanna play like that? Nope? Thats the reason why it got nerfed and the damage was put in other spells. It was for the best.
But it doesnt make us less reliant on tier, so from next week we will feel more powerful and be more applealing for m+/raid.
As there is only a few who get 4-set first week it will help the casual playerbase more than then the hardcore playerbase.
The compensation buffs prob should have been higher to bring us closer to other classes.
The only problem we will have (and always will have) is getting into m+, and there is nothing blizzard can do other than make us top dps class for us to be a prio there.
We cant really complain as we are one of the few classes who only bring dps, our utility goes up when it comes to raiding.
And if you have a problem with m+, go destro. From my knowlegde its in alot better situation then demo right now.
