So the other we were doing DOS and I got silenced by some mobs and at this point I never thought about it but why warriors can get silenced ?
I mean by rpg rules it doesn’t make any sense silence is supposedly make magic classes unable to phrase the spells .
It was like this in vanilla-wotlk? Because I don’t remember warriors or physical classes to get silenced… weird
Only shouts should stop working when silenced, yes.
Everything stops. They did that for bAlAnCe™ ?
i think bc it s more like a pacified status instead of a silence, even if the cc says ‘silence’
This.
It is a pacified effect, just says silence cuz dunno
“Pacified” That’s a makeshift scapegoat to avoid the subject. It says silence. The skill and balance was built around silence.
A “pacify” skill should, first of all, if we’re being pedantic, make you unable to attack. That’s closer to a stun then, not a silence.
If you want to argue pacify, then introduce that as a new skill, with new balance mechanics, new cooldown talks, bla bla bla, not just plop “silence now works on warrior abilities too”. There is no other rpg that I know of where silence affects warriors. Their skills are physical peaks, not mental.
If we’re going to argue logic, silence shouldn’t stop a mage’s fireball either, i dont see my mage saying anything when he casts fireball, he just waves his hands around. This is not the ground on which the inner mechanics of this game are designed. If the dev responsible for this decides silence now stops warrior abilities, thats what goes. He doesn’t need to make any scapegoats or change the subject in fear of forum posts lol.
I’m not going to argue what the animation of your mage’s mouth should do. Spells are originally, incantations. Words of power spelling out a… spell. Like, that’s magic.
But honestly that’s already way too much explaining for something that’s basic. It’s like somehow we’re now the ones to explain how a wheel turns round and the devs have to not explain why they made it square. So far because Grizly said so, who apparently is intimate with dev procedures and what dictates game inner mechanics.
Mate, care to take a sit over there? You’re talking out your.
On topic: Wow is very grounded in cause and effect. The lore in this game, is one very good example.
I don’t mind silence affecting warriors so long as there is a good reason. Explain how silence affects warriors, because to me it makes absolutely 0 SENSE.
I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not, but I’ll bite and say it again: This is not how balance decisions are made.
Why does a 3.5 meter tall musclebeast tauren warrior hit exactly as hard as a gnome warrior? Please update tauren racial to be +80% dmg to physical attacks.
How does a mage take damage from another mage’s fireball when he himself is literally already on fire from combustion’s animation? Please add “immune to fire dmg” to combustion.
My guy, you’re giving me personal attacks just because Im the one who pointed out how ridiculous your arguements are. Your post can be screenshoted and captioned “when people ask why developers don’t take forum posts seriously”. Please.
You’re overthinking this, Blizzard wants you to not be able to use abilities while affected by something and that’s that, in this case all you have to do is move out, just like on first boss in Necrotic Wake.
Amazed a thread like this exists, jesus.
BUT MOOOOOM :(((( im a warrior i should be unaffected by mechanics because logic, WAAAAAAH :’(((((
I’m obviously not trolling. And I’ve already given you more attention than you’re worth.
Just because not everything is perfect doesn’t mean you should stop trying. It’s very simple. Also your cry to your mommy is the exact attitude I felt from your first reply. A guy with mommy issues looking for a fight to prove himself.
Go find another topic my guy and let us discuss something that obviously, apparently to you as well, is not logical.
Whether devs chose to implement logic or not is DEFINITELY not your call. So take your advice and go back to your mommy.
you seem mildly irritated, sorry that bag of truth hit you in the face. take care.
pacify isn t a new mechanics
already existed long ago mate, we are not ‘adding’ nothing new mate, neither blizz
we are only telling you that, even if it says ‘silenced’ blizz meant it to be ‘pacified’
I can’t with you guys. I’m not sure if you guys are playing puppets or you’re geniune.
First of all, neither of you is a dev or Blizzard. I’ve already explained that the game functions on logic. It expands on our knowledge which is why it’s such a succesful mmorpg, because it’s easily relatable.
When blizzard comes and introduces a makeshift balance plot, you don’t just “eh, whatever” it, you call them out.
I’m playing an alive world not a math game, where names of skills don’t matter.
AND IT’S NOT ABOUT THE NAME. The fact that silence works for mages is perfectly logical and has very easy to understand balance implications.
When silence suddenly affects warriors, when everyone in this room knows, IT DOESN’T, it opens up a world of possibilities for stuff to get even more unbalanced, because you have nothing to tie it back to.
Not sure how to explain it.
To me it’s obvious that they’re just lazy and they’re losing grip. And yes, seeing you being dismissive is aggravating because, I do have the experience, countless of times, of seeing stuff fail down this path.
Warrior use voice to make big shout
If warrior no have voice warrior no can make big shout
I’ve tried to dumb this down for you as much as possible as for some reason it seems to still be required, i hope it helps.
Kid, you’re 20 years too young to “dumb” stuff down for me. It takes quite the fortitude on your part to come to the conclusion that I support this because I DIDN’T REALISE, WARRIORS HAVE FEELINGS TOO! AND THEY TALK, AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES WHEN THEY FIGHT!
Mages use words, as incantations, they play on your mental, so part of the magic is you hearing it. God knows, I’m not a magician, maybe a fellow mage can explain why his words affects my health bar. But they do.
A warrior might say “haaa” as he attacks but should he not be able to say “haaa” his muscles would still guide the axe to your head. Arguably, it’s even more menacing. You can, and I’m fully behind this, suggest that silence would lower his attack damage, why? Because a big part of a good strike is proper breathing. If his mouth is shut and can’t guide the strike with proper breathing - “Haaa” then his damage would be diminished.
Not sure that was the point of this thread, but that sound more logical and appealing to me than “that skill does that now”.
Anyway, my point is clear. For the rest of the frogs popping up, I’ve got better things to do then show you which way is left and right.
Bye.
Well if nothing else, you’ve made a compelling argument for why you should be immune to mind control.
Ahah, funny, because I’m stupid. Who told you that joke, your kindergarten playmate?
Don’t bother, the joke will be stale by tomorrow when you wake up.
But… for tomorrow, find yourself some other thread to troll, will you? I’m all for being cheeky, but you’re JUST being rude with 0 points to make. Get a clue and bugger off.
Seriously though. Silence shouldn’t affect warriors.
