I’ve been playing since 2021, I don’t know anything about it. Why was it taken out and why is it better that a panther was put in its place?
What would you say to the fact that, since Blizzard is starting to put back the vanilla versions of some instas/raids, they put back the original Zul’gurub and this mount as well :D?

I wouldn’t oppose to this, I had ~160 attempts at the stupid tiger by the time it got removed, but never got it.
Realistically though, ZG has already been… somewhat added, so I doubt they’ll put it back in it’s entirety. makes the current concessions and the effort around them kinda redundant.
Noone knows for sure. Some are saying it’s a ‘technology’ thing, since Zul’ Aman and Naxxramas were also both removed. Some are saying it’s a FOMO thing, we’ll never know.
However, I doubt the Tiger will return in any new way. I personally farmed it on live and it never dropped for me, and I also farmed it on on classic (roughly 80 attempts), and I never got it, so just quit again.
If it would, it would probably be tied to the Zul’ Gurub of old that got added in 10.1.5. The fact, they missed adding a tiger and a raptor (wouldn’t even have to be the old ones, just a proper tiger instead of this panther) is sad though.
My theory is that it will come back eventually – it wasn’t one-of-a-kind event like Quiraji Tank to be such a huge flex and it was – and could be still – farmed later on stream the same way as Ashes of Alar, for example. Considering that they started reusing old content recently, it’s quite possible now.
The way of bringing it back can be different tho – it can be placed in Trading Post eventually or maybe Blizzard is preparing scaled (TW or tuned like it was with Molten Core) version of original ZG for some event. Or maybe they hold it for Corrupted Blood incident 2.0 event to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025?
Who knows, who knows.
I’d love it if they brought back old ZG like they did with Scholomance, with some secrets and a small storyline. I’d prefer that over putting the tiger on the trading post (tho, to be fair, I’m sure other people would probably prefer the latter instead of a grind lol).

We have it on good authority that this mount was finally activated in Patch 8.2.5 for the purposes of a Make-A-Wish request to a player. This means the Tiger is not available to the general playerbase
In a design similar to today’s Zul’gurub (daily reset), I would agree.
They prefer to put the old store mounts that can no longer be bought in the TP.
