Any specific reason to have a macro that removes bop for a dps?
Maybe it is an old macro? If i remember right, bop did not allow you to attack or something like that.
Or perhaps they’re tank mainspec, and I have a cancel BoP thing wired deep into their hands.
(There is, of course, an Upgrade for that, for tanks of the right class.)
Correct (but it does now). Also, there are things you can’t interact with while immune.
To stop anyone stealing BoP, e.g. if you BoP off CC on your friend, your friend may want to then remove the BoP if they’re facing a mage in arena to stop them stealing it, since its already served its purpose.
I’ve encountered 2 people today that has a macro to remove bop in freehold, I bop them as the shark boss does his shark tornado only for them to die instantly because they remove it instantly. I don’t even understand why they’d keep that macro in PVE.
The bigger question is why they stand in the tornado, without having bops coordinated.
Because my main spec is tank and you totally do not want me to have bop on me more than 0.5 sec.
Bit annoying that that abbreviation is mostly used for Bind on Pickup no?
I guess seeing a pala type, you’re talking of Blessing of Protection?
Helps to type it out once and then follow up with abbreviations.
Maybe an edge case but I hear some have it just in case they’re Bopped as a mistake/paladin doesn’t understand the situation/trolls.
Especially while leveling, learning tanks sometimes lose aggro and the healer gets it. This makes me swap to those mobs to make sure they’re at least attacking me in stead of the healer while the tank regains control of the situation.
In these cases it’s frustrating to get Bopped by a panicking paladin who’s just trying to help. I scramble to right-click the buff but by then the healer’s dead. Much easier to have the macro (since it’s useful for tanks anyway) and just keep it in the same hotkey on all characters.
Not sure why anyone keeps it in a hotkey that’s easy to accidentally press though, definitely goofy to die to Sharknado just 'cause you removed a harmless (and helpful!) Bop.
Tanks use that macro
If some troll bop tank - it’s most of time wipe.
That’s bad judgement from them. While I originally posted why I have the habbit, then on situations like FH I do not remove it and am more surprised that paladin had smarts to use it on me
I believe not many old time players with no paladin alt, or friend - know about the change that you can attack in melee with it. For example while I know I can do it, I am not used to that. And as tank I really do have to remove BoP quickly or someone may die.
In dps spec I do have separate ‘remove’ macro where as in tank spec it is under actual ability I use otherwise.
I do it using defensive, and move when I drop under certain HP, which does not explain the people in question, who died to it
And yes I respond to those posts now since last time I posted I did not see them. This forum software sometimes plays tricks with me
I do it too on my windwalker with touch of karma. It is a dps increase!
You can’t cast channeled spells in bop (At least not mind flay). Eye beam maybe?
i had this cancelaura on all buttons way back, also some other annoying things my guildies could cast
All those sneaky retlols bop top dps
good times, fun raids
