Why WoW forums are so bad

*Artificial limitations (posting links, videos, pictures etc) because you are not lurking 24/7 and not reading over every other garbage post
*Due to above most people have moved elsewhere (disrcord, reddit, mmo-c etc), there is maybe 10-20% activity compared to how it was in earlier expansions and seems to be only getting worse
*80% posts are complains, 10% weekend posts, 5% legitimate posts, 1% fun
*You have to be subbed to post so potential new players can’t even make posts
*The same 10 people making similar posts over and over is a clear indicator of current state
*Flag system is broken - god forbit if you say something someone doesn’t agree with or find offensive, many posts get flagged for literally no reason
*This post will be removed/flagged due to one of the above reasons

Apart from point 1, which is in itself applicable to all discourse forums, all the rest of your points are pretty much identical to pretty much every forum ever.

And every media platform. The bulk of it’s playerbase are playing (regardless of what game), not taking part in any of the discussion mediums.

Welcome to the 20th century were links were posted in plain text, either way not the biggest issue, it’s mostly about images and videos. Even quite recently there was a post about AI animating where I could not post because guess what I’m forbidden

I expect a moderator will unflag it upon review as there is nothing flaggable in your post.

I think it was a bit of a challenge accepted moment, but wrong none the less.

Offense is in the eye of the beholder. Many get flagged for a good reason.

On other mediums you’d be downvoted, we just don’t actually have a system for that on Discourse.

You can thank the removal of the fun topic section where all the random topics went. I miss that section.

I don’t see anything wrong with the first post, except it’s about 20% trolling.

btw you should see the Classic forums for repeated posts, the first 100 posts are about 3-4 things.
