Why WoW Has The Best MMORPG PVP ( MMR, Format And Gameplay)

Hi Guys

I explain in this video why I think and convinced that WoW has the best competitive pvp out of all mmorpgs.

If you want to compete and to feel your progress to mean something, WoW has that in store.

Like I said in the video, i’ve played LOADS of other mmorpgs with the wish of finding other and better mmorpg games with pvp. The issue is, there is none.

Luckily we have WoW, and any player coming from League, Valorant or other competitive games, you can find your stick with WoW.

This video is more meant for the people hesitating to comeback or even people that stopped playing wow and think that the grass is greener on the other side.

You talk a lot but you actually say nothing.
You got one point right and that’s incentive. Most MMORPGs lack that.
Dragonflight will be worse in this regard because there is another incentive gone, which is climbing rating for gear.
Right now it’s literally a huge issue. What’s the point of having full gear? What do you do then? Climb for a random number and brag with that? That’s absolutely pointless. Also, the higher you go the smaller is the pool of players, which means you fight the same people over and over again (one of the reasons why I quit Lost Ark) while the combat is actually limited and very scripted.

The best game so far I played was BDO. The progression was kinda endless, while having a softcap allowed you to compete vs high end geared players. The gap could have been a bit smaller but it was fine. This fact was combined well with sieges/node wars which rewarded you even more for taking part in PvP. The combat itself was just excellent and you always felt like you could do something.
Of course they ruined the game by more p2w introduction and focusing on classes (+cash shop items) instead of more content.

This is probably the future of MMORPGS, sieges/node wars etc. We will see what Riot and Ashes of Creations can do. We need more incentives in the end game.

U dont play pvp for gear stats increased.

After 2100 every player at 2.1k and above have the same gear power.

U play pvp because u like it and want to challange urself how far u can go.

Gw2 doesnt even has pvp gear and it takes people 10 min to play any class spec they want in pvp and people still play alot of pvp

  1. Because they like it and its fun

  2. Because they want to see how far they can reach and improve

  3. Games like Lol and Gw2 are full of pvp with no gear treadmill.

  4. Good players can beat lower skilled players even with -30ilv gap.
5.the only mode that requires gear improvement its pve.

  5. People like to achiev that ladder titles/numbers.

  6. U dont need pvp power items from pvp- u can replace them with cool armour effects and weapon skins yo show off how good some people are.
8 no gear. Treadmill and power gap in pvp would
Mean more people get to try more classes and more playstyles

  7. Less boosting in pvp.

Thats my 2 cents!

Yes, I do.

This is exactly why I stop at 2,1k. Every season.

It’s not the good kind of a challenge to play with LFG people.
It’s more the annoying kind of a challenge which you don’t want.
You don’t play 2vs2, you play more like 1vs3 because your LFG teammate is an additional issue in the match. Maybe Soloq will fix that, who knows… at least everyone will have the same issue, not just you.

And GW2 was never even close to WoW in terms of playerbase, nor gameplay or fun.
Every single person I know played GW2 for like few minutes and quit. Gosh how many times did I try to play this game… literally quit it the same day, every single time.

Well playing with lfg is bad usualy, because u have no sinergy true.

But u should add people who were fine and u managed to feel good playing with.

U stop at 2.1 k with max gear.

My opinion- pvp should be just skilled based not geared base.

Skill - u can always improve and play better and be proud- u can try to master it.

Gear ilv- are just numbers and isnt a fair ground when skilled geared people destroy low brackets.

I”m not saying gw2 is better than wow:)- clearly not-but pvp based only on skill and no gear treadmill grinds its easier to balance and less , way less grindy.

Pvp should never be based on gear power- if ur better u win if not u try to get better or stop playing.

Thats my opinion and wow pvp suffers from gewring issues-grinds- and balance for years.

Thats why pvp player base is smaller than the inn in tirisfal

Do you think I never had this idea in all these years?
People have different schedules. You often are not able to play at the same times and the people who want to climb high ratings are even less and/or have a stable team already.

Correct, because there is no incentive to push further. It becomes just a bigger chore, especially in term of looking for people.

This is fine and there are games for that, as you already mentioned.
Some people like PvP combined with a MMORPG aspects. If you find another game like that, with somewhat working PvP, please share. Because what you want does already exist, even a WoW-like-game.

I am fine with that, I don’t want or need to improve even further, nor do I need to be proud of some random number. I want fun and not playing the game is not fun.

If someone is skilled, he will climb to get the gear.
If someone has gear and is in a low bracket, then he is there for a reason and usually a free kill.

So obviously GW2 does not attract enough people to actually make their PvP good and/or fun enough.

Actually even at its “down” the PvP playerbase is still bigger than in Legion, where you didn’t need gear and had templates.
And from my own experience it’s bigger than in WoD, at least the active part is because most people where just semi afk ruining all the non-rated PvP modes, while not even trying in rated because, again, there was no incentive to even try. Most people are simply not interested in a random number.

Pvp mode Imo should be equal in every aspect if possible otherwise it makes no sense.

I think people like wow pvp because there is no other game like this one, that’s why even if they turn it to a meme and clown fiesta people stay or comeback at tsome point.

This is true, unless you mean a game like WoW where only skill matters and there is no gear, then there is one.
A literal WoW clone. It’s called Ring of Titans.
