Wild Imps for Demonology die in BGs all of the time. The worst offender for this is DK diseases that just spread to them and kill them, without them even being targeted!
If my pet dies, I can re-summon it, I can heal it, I have ways to instantly re-summon it, other players can heal it, etc. But there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop Wild Imps from dying to diseases and other random filler stuff.
I can’t heal the imps; they spawn off of my character, and I have no control over them.
This seems like an obvious oversight in design from back in the day. I just have a large portion of my damage culled by DKs not even purposefully targeting them, with zero counterplay.
Solution: give Wild Imps 99.9% damage reduction. Make it a minor glyph if needed: ‘Ghostly Wild Imps’ or something.
Edit: Just to add to this, I created an addon to track WIld Imps deaths in BGs, which doesn’t count them disappearing from casting their 10 fel bolts, and it’s often 25 - 50 imps per BG dead to DK diseases.
They often deal 3 - 6 million damage on Wild Imps alone just passively!
It’s not just DKs just FYI its warriors deep wounds with sweeping strikes also adding to it, if it helps my pet dies in seconds with SS up.
It hurts DKs just as much when our pets die in 1.2 seconds as its a huge chunk of our damage and additional stuns / sacs etc.
I do agree something should change in that regard for everyone’s sake.

Yeah, Warriors with Deep Wounds is another serial offender! At least with Pets, you tend to have ways to re-summon, heal them, etc, although I do think pets dying in general is still a problem in itself.
But Wild Imps just dying to passive cleave with nothing that can be done about it is a huge flaw that needs addressing.
It reminds me of the change they made to Boomkins in Cata to stop them from sitting in one eclipse. It’s obviously not the intent of the original design, and neither is Wild Imps just mass dying to random cleave that isn’t even being purposefully targeted.

Same with Army of the dead which is a 10 min CD 1 spinning warrior and that CD is gone along with the army.
Maybe they could add some kinda reduction in dot damage from them, I am not sure if those type of pets take our resi stats etc, I dont think they do which is possibly part of the problem.

This should be an obvious, straightforward fix to a spec-breaking issue in PvP.
Huge damage reduction for PvP only regarding damage on Wild Imps. Super easy and quick to do.
