Cross faction LFG would be nice.
Mechagnome says Hi, but he’s lonely cause no one switched over.
Not sure if troll or serious.
A fix would need to accomplish a few things in order to be an actual fix and not just a new problem.
-
It should put the faction balance to 50-50, not sway it in the other direction.
-
It should not grant an in game advantage to alliance side. Faction is supposed to be an RP choice. No buffing alliance so that you do 10% more damage as an incentive to switch, that would be dumb.
This also includes no abundance of loot to less populated side, we already had that and it did not work. -
It can’t force players. No forcing players to the other faction, it needs to be balanced by player choice.
There might be more things i am forgetting, but those are important.
The actual difference in population is not that great, last statistic we had from 1 or 2 patches ago it was 44-56 in horde favor, the big problem is that in competitive population horde dominates much more.
Propblem is, those players are not gonna move no matter how many cosmetics you throw or arbitrary rewards, they play to win. But you can’t give them gameplay advantages, cause that would be violating the integrity of the game, just blatantly favoring one side, and you can’t force them to move, cause that would be violating player agency.
If you have a fix, then post that. If you don’t have a fix or even an idea, then don’t expect someone else to just solve it.
The only real fixes are either removal of factions or a mercenary mode, which allows you to play with players of the opposite faction.
That way RP players can opt out and not play with other factions, and those that really don’t care about RP reasons, can go and play with more people, it’s a win-win.
People are switching to horde because the top raiders are here and they think that the ridiculously low 1% minmaxing of those raiders going to make them good as well, meanwhile according to the guild leader of Limit, alliance already has better pve racials right now, its just so irrelevant that they won’t faction change just for that.
If they balanced factions Retributor would have to find a new goal in life instead of whining about horde bias or god forbid he’d retire and that’s something blizzard can’t afford.
Was playing Horde, switched to Alliance I have no problems.
I dont care if Horde does better in raids and all that, why should I?
I play to have fun and the fun for now is within Alliance.
How about you do the same have fun.
Nerf all horde Racials by 50% and /or mandatory race change for all elves to orc, Darkspear troll or undead.
Will fix it
Bing, right one! and if they don’t want to remove it (removing it would be better) put a damn option for people to choose if the ywant to go in a battleground with mercenaries or not.
I for one do not want them with me if i wanted to play horde i had be doing so, yeah but the queue is onger : you choosed to be horde deal with it , you can’t have everything in life do not come in an Alliance battleground even if it is quicker to spred your negativity or making it a loss on purpose and spam the bg chan ally this, ally that horde spotted immediately!
Same for pve contnt , do not allow either faction to play each other: you will only see a fall in pve progression and level horde side don’t do that mistake !
I have plenty of people playing Alliance and with mythic dungeon and raid achievement in friend list even if i don’t take part in that activity willingly, if one really want to commit he/she usually can ! Merge some dead realm instead … !!!
They are already with
KT
MG
Human
NELF.
Its getting really boring explaing that none of the top 50 horde guilds stacked trolls because they didnt they all picked races they wanted to play and nothing due to racials .
Hence why the reroll to alliance for MDI.
I’m not sure I understand this line of thinking.
Factions already team up for PvE… the players just don’t, for some reason.
There’s no sensible reason, gameplay wise or lore wise, that would prevent us from playing cross faction.
Infact, preventing us from doing so is already completely counter to the lore.
How would that help ? It would increase bg queues because at this point most people doing PVP as alliance are mercenaries if you take a good look , and on top of that I would take the offer of a free faction change even though I’m on Draenor because its a smaller community on the alliance side but I cant , so I shouldnt be playing as mercenary because I dont have 30€ to throw away ?
There is nothing they can do short of eliminating factions, as has already been said.
The biggest thing the Horde has going for it right now is “bigger playerbase”…and the hardest argument against Alliance is “non-existing playerbase for CE content”. You cannot fix that by any ability changes. Not in the short-term. Blizzard would have needed to act as soon as the trend started ~6 years ago. But they did not. Now it is far too late. If they overbuff/nerf racials many players will not switch - they will quit. That’s just the truth. And Blizzard knows that.
It certainly does not help that Blizzard themselves only play and care about the Horde, either.
I do not expect SLs to sell very well. Many players feel betrayed by BFA - as an Alliance player you got ~60% of an expansion out of this box. It would take some huge prime-time features like a new Class to lure them back in…or a plot continuation that actually interests people, like dealing with Sargeras’ sword or something…neither is offered by shadowlands and while the BFA intro-story was incredibly bad, it at least offered a lot of shock-moments and pictures to lure players in (only to then not tell them the story they were looking for…) - the SLs intro story is much worse in my opinion and does not even offer those bait moments/pictures to advertise with. That’s why i anticipate SLs will not sell very well compared to previous expansions. Which will automatically make the playerbase-situation worse.
That’s one of my few hopes regarding SLs: That the expansion will be received so badly that Blizzard will finally HAVE TO act on the non-existing CE playerbase issue for Alliance players.
What does CE stand for?
Cutting Edge, is what i meant with it.
Afaik, the only reason why they haven’t transferred to the Alliance so far is because they’re in a serious debt due to borrowing a lot of gold for the corruption gear to get an edge in the world first race. If they could transfer to the Alliance, they would.
Only balance would be to remove it as a gameplay element.
Let anyone team together.
And pvp is just teams of players fighting each other, red vs blue and not horde vs alliance.
I’d say it is already balanced, because every race or class can complete key 15. That is the last key that matters. After that it is all competitive and that means if you want to compete you are expected to take what is the best combo.
Define competitive. The only thing Alliance lacks is super-hardcore world-top but how does this matter? You can do everything else on Alliance.
I agree and I did say so in my reply, but I may not have made myself clear, if so I apologise. I was responding to somebody who said we should have Horde players join an Alliance guild or Alliance join Horde guilds.
Although I know not all will agree with me, my way of thinking is to keep the factions separate in this respect. However, if you used the lfg tool for content, all can sign up.
So to me if we have an Orc in an Alliance guild it is no longer cross faction, it is factionless. I see cross faction play as the factions remaining as is, but the lfg tools for keys/raids etc. can be made so that anybody may apply, Alliance or Horde and in such a case you may have a mixture of players from each faction coming together for a raid or Mythic+ etc.
