Will Classic TBC work for Mac computers?

As the topic says, will it work if I have a Macbook?

And especially, will it work for the new Macbook Air M1?

Thank you

Why wouldn’t it? My missus plays WoW on a Mac for the last 11 years or so. I wouldn’t have thought they’d stop now.

I just read on applesilicongames that it says that TBC private server Atlantiss does not work for the new Macbook Air M1.

Now I know it could be different with real Classic TBC servers, but I just wanted to be 100% sure it works, if I’m going to buy the new M1 Macbook Air. Would love to hear from a Game Master.

Would also like to hear if it works for older Macbooks

It will be running off the retail wow backend, just like Classic, so it will 99.9% work on Macs (I hope, or back to bootcamp for me).

Bootcamp and play on Windows you mean?

You won’t hear from a game master here, but tbc will run the same client as Classic. So if Classic works, tbc will work.
Pretty sure WoW has supported Mac since the beginning so why would they stop now.

You can always try to make a post in the Technical Support Forum if you really want an official reply.

Thank you for your time to answering me

Private servers use old TBC Clients from back then. Classic uses modern client and supports modern hardware and operating systems. It’s rather unlikely they will stop macOS support now.

TBC Classic pretty much has to run off the retail WOW backend, just like Classic, or it won’t work on modern battle.net, which also has Blizzard’s DRM and security systems integrated into it, so it’s pretty much a given. Also, porting games to work on MacOS is apparently easier than ever, just a limited market, so most developers are just too lazy to do it, but probably worth it for a game like WOW.
